if the umpires were paid on a basis of only in actual play time, does anyone think a light meter would be seen?

we are still applying laws from the ark. If floodlights are on fully all teams need to agree to play on unless it’s tipping down

over to the icc on this

Absolute bullshit isn’t it, they had the lights blaring and the spinners on. Absolutely no trouble of any safety risk.

If they let us in on the big bad light secret, I’ll cut them some slack. But going off with spinners on, under excellent flood lights, in an empty stadium is cannon fodder to fire out criticism

It's been very a bizarre game for weather like.

Ball has done next to nothing in those conditions

Again Pakistan deserves to draw this game after battling like champs.

Aggers on the live ticker:

“The word we have is it will take four or five hours, after it's stopped raining, for this field to be fit for play.”

Just call it now, I’ll be glad if I never see the f***ing Rose Bowl ever again. Shithole.

I've been to the Ageas a number of times. Its a lovely place. I was there for a T20 game while the Headingley Test was reaching its climax. Listening in on TMS and telling everyone how Stokes and Leach were getting on. No one would believe me.
Any way when they got down to needing about 20 runs the T20 game was between innings, and half the crowd were below the stand watching Stokes knock off the winning runs and the cheering was massive. Lovely place when the sun is out. And the weather down here is far better than the NE.

Only a couple of weeks ago it around 34-36C for 8 days in a row.

f***ing hell man. 5 hours???

Call it. Let everyone go home. Pointless

Well it is as he will play again
It’s probable he will play again, but it’s far from certain

1) India and Sri Lanka could well be cancelled
2) it’s not inconceivable that he suffers an injury at the start of next summer and that keeps him out (as it did last year), these things happen as the body gets older

At that point, he will be approaching 40 (?)

I still think he gets there, and he’s still utterly class, but it’s possible.
