Annoyed me that

sibley just needs to play his natural waybut he’s clearly listened to people criticising scoring rate

In England I agree. Sibley looks a bit weak against spin though, so will be interesting to see how he is in the subcontinent in particular. I do like him against the swinging ball though, he does his main job of hanging around and chewing up early deliveries better than anyone we have. Would be nice if he had another gear so it didn’t take him 200 balls to get from 50 to 80 mind, once he’s in and it settles down a bit.

Ono the spin thing happened again. He’s going to be a problem in the subcontinent if you are getting out to day one leg spin in England

That came from nowhere and the decision wasn't even close, as it turned out. I'm struck by the lack of bounce.

Absolutely scandalous treatment of Wood once again. He was our best bowler in South Africa and he's been dropped after 1 test on a shite pitch at the start of the summer.

Maybe he should go into the Player Zone on Sky and kick off.

Yeah, he’s far from the finished article but think he has the tools there to be a successful long term opener at least. Today’s wicket was frustrating but he showed some more pro-active batting there and it won’t come overnight.

Exactly the problem isn’t it, there’s a fine balance between being pro-active and scoring runs quicker and being comfortable in your own game. He looked good til that point but he needs to be careful he doesn’t give in to pressure to totally change his game.
