Aye, possibly that. If it was an unknown business man then fair enough, but not somebody as recognisable as Storey, who has publically stated his intentions.

Got a bout 5 minutes into listening to it walking my puppy then the thunder and lightning scared him and I had to come home.

He sounded very Methaven-esq.
He clearly had 5-6 bullet points written in front of him that he was told to drop in, and oi oh boy did he drop them in.

The club are languishing in legue one.
I have 4 big blue chip backers.
My bid is fully costed.
We have a 10year long term plan.
Sunderland are one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Any tricky question? “that’s covered by an NDA I can’t talk about it yet but it will all come out soon”

Maybe I’m just cynical, but I’ve heard it all before.

I hear what you’re saying. Remember though MG has nothing to do with ‘his’ consortium other than bringing it together. He’s not going to have a financial stake. Apparently.

Even if I knew nothing else about the bloke that would set my alarm bells ringing. A chairman/minority shareholder who will be taking it upon himself to identify and recruit players and force them on the manager.

I wouldn’t want an owner anywhere near footballing decisions beyond appointing the right people to make those decisions for him. I’m sure if he was finding these players in consultation with such a person then he might of mentioned it.

If anyone’s on Twitter could you try and get him to say something of actual substance? Like how he’d plan to address our recruitment deficiencies or how he’d better establish pathways from the Academy to the first team or what his approach to managing the Academy is.
 
The bloke’s past is murky to say the least but I’d expect anyone interested in the club to say that they had serious backers, the club should be amongst the country’s elite, the supporters are brilliant and they have a solid achievement/improvement plan. Marking Storey down because he is saying that is a tad unfair. I’m a bit perplexed by the whole thing and frankly I just wish it was sorted and we could get on with trying to make our way out of this tin pot league.

If he is proven to be all full of bluster then he'll be shown up for the fantasist that he is made out to be and nobody will ever take him seriously again. On the other hand, should he be serious and ends up buying the club then doesn't deliver, he'll be made out to be full of shit, and again nobody will ever take him seriously again.

Let's just see what happens eh? As it stands we're a League One club, and we'll be a League One club for a very long time. We are going nowhere, arguably going backwards. He's talking a good talk and he has everything to lose because of it. The club has everything to gain from it.

The issue being if the outcome is your 1st scenario that could push us to the wall. Nowhere online is there any evidence of any company of his having any money. We can’t continually hope ‘that things will only get better’ as there’s every chance with this bloke in charge they’ll get a lot worse.

The way I remember it, there were no factual plans, just talk of what you have said above from folk who got a bit carried away.

It didn't half snowball into these people don't mess around etc..
