What will happen to motorbikes?

You must live a sheltered life mate. Moforbike riders are a minority group. Actually historically a lot of homosexual men wear motorcycle gear. It’s popular fetish wear on the gay scene. I wouldn’t naturally connect a sense of masculinity with bikers. Not sure if you’re gay yourself but I’d hazard a guess a lot of the lads that camp out in leather together will be doing it as a way into the scene.

Obviously you know a lot about that scene.

Fuck 'em.
One of the banes of my commute (when I had one). Irritating bastards flitting down the sides of cars in traffic.
Just waiting to see one clip a wing mirror and it would all kick off.
Filtering through traffic towards Albert Bridge in London a XR3i moved over a little either to stop me or so he could get a better look ahead. There was still enough room to get through but just as I got level with the car I hit the white dividing line and slid sideways towards the car, just enough to clip his mirror and send it bouncing over the cars in front. The lights ahead just changed to green at that moment so I carried on while he was honking his horn in anger. 2 months later I get an invitation to visit my local police station, the bugger had only managed to get my registration and this was before Dash Cams. I just denied it, I said if I'd hit a mirror hard enough to break it off I'd have known, I suggested I might have just touched it and the driver was trying to claim for an already broken mirror. The police believed me :D . Payback really for the number of times cars pull over to stop me filtering perfectly legally between stationary traffic.
Obviously you know a lot about that scene.
You might be onto something there, what with his Brokeback "wild" Camping weekends and he's always mentioning his missus in posts.

So you’re bragging about deliberately damaging someone else’s car, after admitting yourself you don’t even know if he was trying to block you or just get a better view? Then you admit to lying to the police about it?

And you wonder why bikers get a bad rep, f***ing hell

Bragging? I don't think so, just pointing out a bit of karma. It wasn't deliberate either, reading still not a strong point.

I find it astonishing that bikes are allowed to filter through traffic like this.Asking for trouble and should be clamped down on

Sure you weren’t bragging, but yes my mistake you weren’t deliberately hitting his vehicle, you just lost control of your bike because you aren’t as skilled a biker as you think you are.

You ought to be careful. Lose control of your bike when filtering and you could end up seriously hurt.

I'm not even particularly bothered if bikers are allowed to filter but damaging someone's vehicle and just f***ing off/denying it happened is a proper shit trick. No different to clipping a car in a car park and not leaving your details.

Did you not read the rest of his post? It was karma because other drivers have been mean to him in the past.

I’m glad @Tuono lives down south, West Sussex or Hampshire I think. Wouldn’t want his sort around my way.

Tbh I mainly focussed on the bit where he lost control of his bike and caused damage to someone else's property then lied about it. Putting it down to karma is a canny one mind.

If we move to an age of self-driving cars, and I mean all self-driving cars, I think it'll be the end result of decades worth of policy aimed at making the roads safer and safer places to be. We're at the thin end now - the Department for Transport are proposing to mirror EU legislation on mandatory speed limiters in cars, done via speed sign recognition and GPS.

Mine has that today, you can set up a key so if thats the one that starts the car it cant go over the speed limit, Id assumed it worked solely on GPS until it recognised a temporary 30 zone at some road works so it must do other camera-y stuff (was tree cutting road works through Ryton so not something long term enough to be on the sat nav). Wouldn't like to be the twat that was still doing 30 if someone had nicked the sign indicating the end of the zone 20 miles back though. Maybe it reverts if it doesnt see a sign for a certain distance.

I'm all for it, i used to drive like an arsehole but now i have the economy gauge on to try to keep it over 45 mpg everywhere i go. I got old.

i wouldn't have thought it'd work off the gps as a gps speedo isn't legal in the uk.

I do. Nowt wrong with that scene.

I'm not anti motorbike but motorbike riders are doing themselves no favours at all on this thread. Damaging other people's possessions and thinking it's OK to ride away man ffs.

Just been thinking, cars are better than bikes .......... in snow ⛄

So I will give you that one. A 185kg 1000 cc superbike is not my preferred mode of transport during the beast from the east.

I have it and it’s not great - sees signs that aren’t on the same road. I do like it though, because it means I’m not speedo watching (ooer) in 20s and 30s but you’re right if it doesn’t see the sign what the hell do you do?
