Stadium of Light

Huddersfield (presentation lark as a kid, I grew up there)

Aberdeen

St Mirren (I worked on the new build in 2008, we had a kick about on it late one night after they put the goal posts up)

Just wondering which pro footy pitches people have been on?

Me: Safc, Roker Park after fa cup 92 chelsea win.

Notts county when we stayed up last day 90s.

Tranmere on last day after promotion under Reid.

Swindon on last day after 2-1 win but pipped to promotion by boro.

Portsmouth, mid 90s, got there ridiculously early (after getting the midnight departure bus from sland) and the groundsman let us have a look including a stroll on the pitch.
None of them. My son has played on the SOL and Sid James Park

Roker Park - won a competition and got to wear a Leyton Orient shirt in the procession that went round the pitch before the final game.

Stadium of Light - took part in a penalty shoot out against a group of scouts. One of them chipped me as I readjusted my shin pad and the entire 20k crowd (Man Utd reserve game) jeered me. My dad said if I saved 10 in a row he'd give me a hundred quid. I did and still haven't seen the money to this day.

Bolivian national stadium - in La Paz. They open the gates every day and you can just wander in for a look around.

Is that the one THE STRONGEST play on, if so, I've been on too.
Me n @Kid Galahad on pitch of Slavia Prague when we were there 2001

I’ve been on two. Spurs on the day Klinsman signed. It’s a long story. Burnley’s Turf Moor on a dull drizzly day. Was driving past with work noticed a gate open wandered in, had a chat with the grounds man and he said have a walk around.
I walked out to the centre circle as I did at Spurs. At Spurs I was invited into the dressing room etc had lunch cos I had business there.
At Turf Moor I was a nobody and I looked up at the massive Longside terracing along the side and behind the goal and did think “ How do they do it” A population less than Hartlepool.
Their groundm an followed me out and told me about some of their famous games and which end goals were scored in. A moment I’ll never forget.

Wembley when the Stones were playing (though that doesn't really count, I guess).
Upton Park - West Ham fans were protesting against the board so it seemed the decent thing to join in.
Roots Hall - when Southend won the League One title.
Victoria Park - when Ross County won the SPFL Championship.
County Ground - just strolling about after we won 2-0 there.

Back in the 80's, you could go onto loads of lower league football, rugby and cricket pitches without a hint of stewards ushering you off. I particularly liked wandering up to the stumps at cricket grounds to see the underlying reason why there had been a batting collapse or glut of runs between sessions.

Sincil Bank - played a game as halftime entertainment of Lincoln v Northampton about 9 years ago. My team lost.

That goal from Phillips that day was amazing, earlier into the year he entered our hall of fame, and he thinks that was his best goal, now that is something as he scored some crackers

I have got a decent memory.
Remember the goal but must have left at the final whistle.
Ironically took my Sunderland mate to the game that day, Sunday.
He still talks about that goal.

Used to work with the bloke years ago, like my second Dad.
Once a season I take him and a load of older blokes to a Swindon game, as we all used to work together. A cracking day fuelled by loads of beer.

Already wants to book at least one game in next season. Knows I post on your forum. You would like him without doubt. Make him laugh with the football stories and in minutes the tears are down his eyes and the handkerchief is out ;)

Pride park, escorted from home end to away end at half time
Hillsborough, walked all the way around the pitch during the match with a StJohns ambulance driver

RP first time v Luton ‘73 (was 13)
West Brom late 70’s (Sammy Chin led the charge full length of the pitch to the Baggies end).
Oldham early 80’s (chased them from their end after playing footy for a while at the goal at our end).
Pompey home when beat them 4-1 (went on when our last one went in, from the Clockstand, followed by shitloads of our daft lads).
Exeter away, when we scored in the last minute (Tinny, Dougie S, Smiter, Wecka and the rest of the motley crew went on from the seats in the corner, next to our fans in the away end).

St James' Park as a ball boy when they played Man City in the Coca Cola Cup.

This was before they let the ball boys run on with bottles for the players, I was just celebrating in front of the Man City fans after they won, think Rosler scored twice. Encouraged off by a copper I was

Was at the Oasis gig at the SOL but never walked on the turf, yet... I fancy that half time challenge with the bairn when I feel fit enough!

I was at West Brom in the late 70s when their end came across the pitch at the final whistle, are you sure ?I know @Wakey ftm in Sussex and @Parsoncross were there cos they won the Ugly Bug ball contest in their pub before kick off. 😀

Roker Park - Man City and West Brom last games of the seasons in the early 80’s.

Following the last game at Roker Park against Everton went on the pitch after Reid’s did his local news interview on the side of the pitch and we just wandered on. There were about 6 of us and one of the lads who I didn’t know said ‘wish we had a ball” I said I have and went flying down the clock stand wing with my imaginary ball and put in a class cross for one of the boys to head home. Great goal and the celebrations were on premier passions but me not on it despite a great assist!

The day of the Roker Park auction - was great, like a day in the park for everyone.

Sheffield Utd away, sneaked in the ground before we beat them 1990 - I took an imaginary corner.

Tranmere away 1996, we won the league. Loads on the pitch after the match. I took an imaginary penalty in front of the Tranmere home end much to the bemusement of the home support.
