Greg Docherty

I really don’t see it tbh. He’s like a puppy chasing a ball in the middle and offers absolutely nothing tbh. Created nothing, scored nothing, not really defensively solid. Just don’t see what he actually offers

Really ? Did you not see the Lincoln or Wycombe games - I cannot really understand why you cant recognise his improvement in the new system but each to their own.

My question would then be, why is he not playing in the first team if he is any good instead of being loaned out at 23?

Maybe they have better options ahead of him. He can still be a decent player and not be able to break into the 1st 11 at Rangers you know.

We are in League 1, and despite what many on here think, the SPL is a better standard.

Him being better than he was doesn’t equate to him being good enough for us. I’m a better footballer than I was 12 months ago, I’ve improved, can I get a game next week for the lads?

Where did this team finish?
18th I think. Might well have been a low bar, but it is also possible that he was miles better than everyone else. Either way, your analogy is flawed because we have a reasonable baseline with which to rate Doherty (best player for a team that survived in the division in which we play) whereas we have no falsifiable baseline by which to judge you

You said Dobson was improving therefore that’s good. It’s only good if he’s good to begin with. I’m improving. Does that mean I’m good?
What bearing does that have?

Eh? How does it not matter? What’s a bigger accolade, Liverpool’s player of the year or Darlington?

Well for a start I said nothing about Dobson or anybody, I was just responding to you.

Didn't read the whole thread just replied to your reply. Fancy writing a player off, you know nothing about before he's even signed.
I didn't write anyone off, I just stated that we didn't need anymore small players, because I mistakenly thought he was a short arse, and we play in a division full of strong physical players, simple as that, If the lad turns out to be good then fine, but the last few little Scotsmen we've had flying about the pitch tends to suggest, they struggled in this division, hope he proves me wrong.
