New Music Releases Thread

Virtually anything beyond metal

For 2013 onward, you could probably go back and work through some of this thread. Might be a bit hit and miss though and there's 551 pages now.

A little before 2011 (it came out in 2010), I'd suggest Anais Mitchell's Hadestown as an album worth listening to (it's a concept album about Orpheus' descent into the underworld that's now become a Tony Award winning musical, somewhat oddly).

This site has archives of best of year lists etc. on it:

Album of The Year - Music Reviews, Ratings, Charts, News

Might be worth hunting around on that. It's godawful to navigate though.

There’s at least 4 there that interest me.

Probably a similar list for me. Pinegrove, Innocence Mission (I need my twee middle aged indie fix) and may remind myself of how good Pale Saints were.

If only I could.

Trail of Dead and BBC stand out for me

Can't wait to sit and cry listening to Mac Miller's album.

That's actually a pretty strong list of releases for this early in the year.
Have you heard the Rahman’s Baxter EP of MAC Miller covers? It really shouldn’t work but it does.
To late to edit - that should be Rayland Baxter, stupid autocorrect!

Can't say I've ever even heard of Rayland Baxter, I might give it a quick listen today before the new album's out.
