This board and our fans are toxic

Most likely the players know they ain’t going to play for a more high profile or bigger club and if promotion was gained most would be out the door . So they got nowt much to loose only the fans suffering at the moment .

Not a popular opinion but it's a fact we are becoming toxic. The team is woeful and playing without confidence. It's not a lack of effort it's the fact that the team is much weaker than this time last year and even then you could see our weaknesses across the park.
If I was a potential buyer or player and looked at this board I'd be keeping away from the place as it's a career threatening move.
We are no different to any group of fans. We had the record attendances for a 3rd Division side last year and then increased the number of season tickets this year. That is what potential buyers will look at. When our manager decides to go defensive to get a 0-0 against the 15th placed team and then fails in that quite pathetic mission we have the right to be annoyed - we have and are doing our bit - but carry on using media terms such as toxic if you feel you must.

Stopped reading at 'it's not a lack of effort'.

3 likes says it all take a bow

This is literally the club’s lowest point in its entire history - how else do you expect the atmosphere to be around the club?

Those mugs up the road protest at finishing 15th in the Premier League, and yet here we are barely mustering any sort of discontent aside from on social media.

I just can’t comprehend how anyone could say the fans are toxic when this is the worst it’s ever been, and aside from a few boos at the match we're really quite timid as a fan base in showing our discontent.

Name another club within the last 10 years with a demise comparable to our own and then decide if the fans kicking off is over the top or 'toxic'
I never said it was over the top I said we are becoming toxic which we are and understandably so

It's a fact that we are becoming toxic and understandably so when we have fallen to the depths we are at now.

This is Sunderland, where the fans will cheer a committed tackle the way other fans cheer a goal.

Show us the graft, that you're putting in a shift and we will back you to the hilt.

Unfortunately, the current shower of shite have downed tools and that's not acceptable.
Not totally true Wyke puts the graft in and is still shite and gets grief for it. The same went for Hume earlier in the season.
The players are just not good enough.
No it doesn't.

So, you are perennial struggles in the Premier league for a number of years, then you have back to back relegation's then as favorites in league 1 you end up with nothing, then the next season when all that was required was a little bit of strengthening you seem to have gotten worse. A Manager that was (by what I hear) your least favorite of the candidates..

Of course you should be toxic, you shouldn't stand for it. I personally don't do the "bedsheet waving" but I applaud the fuckers for doing something.. It might achieve nothing but to sit and accept it will also achieve nothing..
You can argue that you should support the team etc not the regime and booing creates a "toxic" atmosphere.. Good.. When the players hear that shit, it should make them angry,, You hould not be happy now.. only a moron would be happy..
The manager should be playing the boos at the training ground and telling them it's not good enough..

You are no different to any other set of fans anywhere,, we all want the best for our teams.. pissing and moaning MIGHT well in the end achieve nothing.... Accepting that should surely will achieve nothing.

You said that it's not a lack of effort causing us to be shit. I stopped reading your post and responded to that point. If you couldn't pick up the nuance of my comment then I'll make it easier for you. There is a severe lack of effort, not just on the pitch but clearly in training, in the way the players look after themselves that manifests itself on the pitch. Slow, laboured, no zip, no commitment, players clearly unfit and overweight. They've actually become lazier and slower than they were under Ross which I didn't think was possible! So, in essence, although I didn't read your whole post, I disagree with the bit that I did read.. does that make me toxic?

No but at least you've read it now. Thanks
