I just wish the local newspapers and local national media journalists would scrutinise our club's ownership as they do for the other lot up the road. We are in a shocking malaise and so little is being said or done by the people with the ability to challenge

I would have imagined they would have more security than just a first refusal though? What's stopping Madrox getting an other party or parties to invest and infinitum so it doesn't go tits up and they can then just sell on at a later date when FFP are no longer interested or Madrox they can make a buck?
 
Fpp have em over a barrel, promotion or not we’ll have new owners next season, or so I heard today at the match. Hope it’s true cos today was the worst match Performance (2nd half certainly) in over 40years.
 
So how much have Donald and Methven got personally invested in SAFC, because they will want to recuperate that with a bit on top?

A fair point. And it was the same when the Craig Hope story came out RE club finances last season too. I said at the time, we should be thankful that he was doing his job. Sections of our support rounded on him in wholehearted, almost cult-like support for the chairman and his associates

I doubt it will be worth a listen anyway. RR will try and blow bubbles up Charlie's arse who will lap it up and go off on a tandem and prevent any serious questions being asked and Reid will toe the company line (cuts, it's been hard, can only work with what we've got etc)

Yes, that is my reading of the situation. I also fear that the clubs costs exceed revenues so the bank’s interest and level of debt gearing may be a concern?

I trusted SD but whether he meant to or not he’s made a f***ing mess and hasn’t the bollocks to front up.

The empty stand, none service of boxes and closure of the players lounge for a Saturday match should be setting alarm bells off for all Sunderland fans.

The ’investment’ as they are calling it sounds dodgy as fuck. Add in the appointment of a shite manager, the rumours around the AOL and the general apathy from the majority of fans, I’ve never known it be as bad as this.

Agree mate. It was important to get promoted last season. This year it's shit or bust under this lot because another year in L1 is catastrophic. The novelty of it all has already worn off so crowds could easily drop to 14-18000. There's no parachute payments after this season and they have already basically said they can't carry on funding us. It's a very worrying time.

He’s an Etonian, a Tory and a ‘successful’ businessman. In my experience those kind of people just genuinely do believe they are better then the rest of us. That’s why he’s condescending.

At some point then they have to communicate clearer the current state. Overwhelmingly, the fan base are doubting the veracity of their message now.

There are no charges in any of the companies. Unless one is filed soon, the assumption has to be that it's unsecured, or convertible into shares in Madrox at a future date.
