I just made the point that the article has been hammed up big time, more so than other appointments we have made.
 
As a Newcastle supporter I get pilloried by my mates for slagging off our own fans. There’s a general refusal to accept a need to reassess where our club are now, not where they have been or may be in the future. I can guarantee if Bruce gets sacked tomorrow we’ll want Mourinho or Wenger to replace him.

Although I’ll always want us to be above you in the table, I’ve long admired the pragmatism of your fans in recognising that the club is bigger than the sum of its parts. If things aren’t working on the pitch, they will be soon enough. Keep the red flag flying and all that.

However, this last few weeks has been different on here. Don’t stoop to our level.

Just had a closer look on Wikipedia, 14 of those players had played at a higher level. Lewis Buxton, Dean Moxey, Dorian Dervite, Mark Beevers, Jay Spearing, Jem Karacan, Ben Alnwick, Gary Madine, Mark Davies, Liam Trotter, Andrew Taylor, Darren Pratley, David Wheater and Adam le Fondre all spent time playing at Championship level or higher.

That said, by my count we have 13 in that category with Jon McLaughlin, Conor McLaughlin, Joel Lynch, Max Power, Chris Maguire, Marc McNulty, Lynden Gooch, Tom Flanagan, Duncan Watmore, Aiden McGeady, Will Grigg, Grant Leadbitter and Laurens De Bock.

Another similarity I suppose, although it proves nowt and I've just wasted a chunk of my lunch break.
 
I’m really underwhelmed by this appointment.

However, it won’t impact the level of support I give the club. I’ll still go to games, buy shitty merchandise etc. but I just wanted to make a big announcement to let people know my feelings and get some attention ...... or is that only acceptable for those that have tossed their toys out of the pram?

This reads like what a mackem pretending to be a mag would write. Although why anyone would pretend to be a mag is beyond me.

I’m with you on this mate! I reckon those shouting the loudest will not be season ticket holders or regular attendees.

Poor choice he is a journeyman ..... any new manager is supposed to lift the club the players and the fans this fella does none of that ..... he’s the cheap choice we all know that and doesn’t look good for the future !!!
