Stopping people getting to graft/exams/interviews/ home, it instantly reminded me of when Sunderland council shut down the town to carry out a survey. Would have loved to have given the person who decided that was a good idea a dig on that day. So, fair play to the commuters today

They are clearly as thick as pig shit.

From the guy trying to stop public transport ( eh ?) , the woman on Good Morning who happily got a chauffeur driven car into the studio to that actress type who flew home first class to LA.

Throw in the right on jet set rock stars and Harry and Meghan and it’s wave after wave of hypocrisy.

That’s plain dumb .

Brits don’t react very well to finger wagging hypocrites.
All the nugget stars have even come out and admitted they're hypocrites yet are still banging the drum. Their group released statement was embarrassing. It's mental, really.

Remember this

They’ve more than made their point. Climbing on the roof of a tube where folk are just trying to go out and earn a crust at 7am is a step too far. Don’t agree with him getting filled in but after saying they wouldn’t affect people’s day to day business what did they expect.

How can you take them seriously with that Mr Broccoli wanker
i still can't quite work out if people think ER are fundamentally wrong, or that ER was fundamentally wrong in their choice of protest?

People know about climate change, however it being protested about by a group founded by someone who took a chaffeur driven car to an interview and when challenged said "it's not about me" and a bloke dressed as Broccoli who answered a phone call on a banana and clearly had no idea of the science on which he was protesting in a live interview shows them for what they are.

Mainly middle classed rich fuckers who want everyone else to change but won't do it themselves and f***ing lunatics

absolutely right they get a kicking.....people out working hard while these twats dick about, that's not how you get make a point about the environment.....go pick some rubbish off the beaches, fuck me if the local cub scouts can do it then so can you.....don't just turn up in London and try to disrupt people trying to make a living.

.....even the Camera man who was filming it for them got dragged out and a few digs....

won't be doing that again then Tarquin will you....
They've just found there is a difference between the West end and the East end

Completely agree with him getting filled in by angry commuters. Had I been there I'd likely have looked to get my digs in as well, the last thing you want when you commute to work is some twat holding everything up.

Kinda torn on the Extinction Rebellion thing.

On the one hand, attacking the Tube at Rush Hour (ironically one of the most eco-friendly ways of commuting around a heavily polluted city) and disrupting people going to work is a dick move.

On the other hand, had the Police not unjustly/unlawfully/undemocratically shut down the peaceful protest up Westminster targeting motorists (which is deeply unjust when one considers they allow Yaxley-Lennons thugs to smash up London every other week), then the need for such stupid protests to get attention wouldn't have arisen...

The video of the posh ***** getting yanked off the Tube is brilliant, though.
I think that their concerns are well founded, but they are pissing people off with their modes of protest.
Equally, what are they supposed to do when their filth are stopping them from protesting peacefully?

Hopefully over the next few weeks a few more of them will get a scudding. It gets to the stage where people lose patience and start cracking skulls. Hopefully most of it will be filmed so us who are up here will get to see them pasted and knocked back into the real world of fists and petrol fumes

XR will fight back. It will all be fun and games until someone gets a lentil in the eye

It’ll get worse the longer it goes on. You’d put up with it for a few days but when it starts affecting your day to day you’d lose patience. They’ll start getting twatted eventually. I’d love to see them do it in Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds where it’s less tourists. They’d get battered if they pissed about with the metro.

Hopefully the worthy yeomen of Canning Town have got the backlash ball rolling. With luck we'll see a few more entertaining kickings dished out by the victims of XR's self-righteous arrogant disruptions.

Yes, it's certainly a green light for beating up those whose views you disagree with. I expect many more protestors for a wide assortment of causes will get beatings after this.

See something you don't like? Why not lash out? That's how it is today.

Whatever happened to the tolerance for which Britain used to be famous?

When pressed they actually contradict themselves in a truly embarrassing fashion. But hey, in today's climate, it's all about who can shout the loudest not do the most. I understand they're trying to make a point but the way they go about it and their lack of suggestions and/or sensible demands makes me cringe.

I see what you did there.....:)

They’ve took the piss for weeks. They’ve made their point. If they don’t shift they’ll get a battering like anyone else would. I love seeing them getting filled in personally. It’s a shame nobody was closer to the action to see the bald lad take a pasting.

Read that they are reviewing their tactics after this mornings events...think they now realise that the public are sick of what they are doing and ain’t going to put up with them
