When we dropped out of the championship along with yourselves the players confidence was shot , the club were in disarray .

Over the summer Stendel totally transformed the atmosphere , the players bought in to his strategy and the club was totally transformed .

Does this sound familiar ?
I watched the you tube video of his leaving do, the fans love him and he seems a top bloke, plays attacking and entertaining football and likes a pint....no f***ing brainer:)

Not really mate, we've never seemed to have much of a strategy or ever really been transformed into a decent side.

He is the best candidate for the job, pretty much whichever way you look at it, and I hope Stewart employs him.

Attacking, pressing style of play would suit our supporters.
League One experience and success.
One concern I have is that his wife & kids still live in Germany and he returned home every week from Barnsley.
I'd have loved Martin O'Neill to have worked out but he treated us like a part-time hobby and commuted from the Midlands. It didn't work.
Roy Keane moved his family up here and treated us with commitment and respect.
I appreciate the potential upheaval for his kids but i'd like any SAFC boss to commit to the club and area.

Photo by Richard Sellers/PA Images via Getty Images Daniel Stendel - is he any good? We’re not entirely sure, so as such we called in an expert - Barnsley Fanzine ‘Ey Up & Down’ - to go in depth and tell us all we need to know about the Sunderland managerial candidate. RR: First off – can you just give us some insight into what has gone on...

Don't get the love for Stendel. He's struggled like fuck in the Championship, way out of his depth. And the league table shows that. So how would he take us any further?

He has had his best players sold though. Not surprised he’s struggled tbh

The more I read and the more I hear the more it seems like a no brainer.

I still have my reservations as to whether the playing staff he'd have at his disposal here, at least until January, would be capable of performing as he likes. Plus we've no idea as to his capabilities in the transfer market (do we?) and I'm not sure I like the idea of leaving unfettered responsibility for that down to Hill and Coton.
Definitely agree with the Hill and Cotton statement

Barnsley fans think so.

Hope we go for a manager with these philosophies that realise in terms of our squad in this league we really should be on the front foot and looking to take the game to the opposition. Imagine going to games again and actually enjoying them!

If there's no compo to agree with another club that also saves us money so makes financial sense too.
