Fulwell73 filmed a big interview with Ellis Short about Sunderland, but never used it - here's why
Ellis Short was the owner of Sunderland AFC when the club agreed to be the subject of a Netflix documentary, but they didn't use an in-depth interviewwww.chroniclelive.co.uk
I said all along that Short might have put loads of money in, but he had no idea what he was doing, and that this money was totally wasted due to a long line of bad decisions.
Seems the lads at Fullwell73 came to the same conclusion:
""An hour and a half later and we're still talking in detail about all of his mistakes in his time at the club, and that conversation was all driven by him. He knew he had a made a mess of it, but by this point he just did not know how to get out of it."
So pleased that he was able to hand the club to someone else. I really hope Donald and his team stay on at the club in a meaningful way - they know football, and they know SAFC.
Never had any ill will against him and always thought his heart was in the right place, it's who he trusted with his millions that really piss me off.Wasn't a fan of him at the time, but feel quite sorry for him now. Tbh, we're on the cusp of maybe the most important period in our entire history and that wouldn't have happened without him

Would love to see that. Be good if they released the interview to the club. Don't expect they will like.top guy Short
Have to say thats a big error by Fullwell73 not using any of that.
The fact our scouting team had Ibrahimovic as an option to sign pretty much sums up how badly people were running the club for him.I'm not afraid to admit I did, massively. I hated him as I watched my club flushing down the toilet.
STID opened my eyes to the latter issues, but I think it also made it obvious how badly run things were. For him to not only wipe out the debt but clearly feel so badly now only shows I was wrong about his character.
I was screwing with him by the end, when he was not interested or here etc but after he did what he did regarding the debt and the takeover, well i was shocked to the core TBH. I thought we were doomed as a club at one stage financially. Now we're are on the verge of this........it's crazy it really isAn honourable man in the end.

His appointments of key personnel were horrendous.I always defended him on here and got shot down.
His heart was in the right place and he lost a shit load of money trying.
Thank god that he said a box of cookies.Seen him once outside the stadium was round the main entrance with work and he turned up with his entourage.
Lass with a charity bucket for girl guides shook the bucket and asked if he'd donate. Ellis, pretty coolly now I think about it, takes out his wallet, peels out a crisp fifty and puts it in the bucket and delivers a fabulous line in his Texan drawl
'Where I come from if you donate to girl scouts you get a box o' cookies'
Lass turns to me and my mate and asks who it is because he'd just given fifty quid... hadn't a scooby who he was
Nowt to do with the thread but thought I'd share

Great fella and the abuse he got on here shows the fickleness of football fans.I like Ellis me.
Put more money into SAFC than anyone else in history combined.
