... and the difficulty of breaking into the elite.

Wolves are currently playing as if they're shot to pieces.

They're 2 points off bottom and, if they lose to Watford, could quite easily be going into October propping up the table.

After the way everyone was invited to marvel at their 'model' it's chilling to see how easily it can all fall apart.

Of course it's early days but it'll be hurting the Wolves supporters to be below a Villa side they thought they'd left behind ...

... happily a Villa side that can put Newcastle in the bottom 3 on Monday.

Money buys nowt but a chance to compete.
Have Wolves improved season on season with the additional pressure of Europe... I think not. Stand still in this league and you’re toast.

After 5 games played (some played 4) the top 9 clubs are the top 9 I expected to finish in that region of the table start of the season. Despite the problems 4 of the ‘big 6’ have it is looking quite predictable. Wolves the only ones bucking the trend in that respect - they’ll be fine but I thought they’d finish upper bottom half. Europa league will be used as an excuse but I often think it is just that, an excuse. In reality clubs will give them more respect this season and will know their flaws, and that momentum has run out.

Not sure why - they normally play a weakened side.

Wolves haven't been though. It also affects pre season preparation and mid week preparation for weekend games. The big clubs are more used to it and obviously have deeper/better squads but chuck in an inexperienced club and they struggle. Burnley were all over the place last seaoan until they went out.

Is this your way of saying the takeover is off (posted by Steve 30000)

Maybe losing sight of their initial goal. Many sides can get lucky the1st season back. Punched above their weight! There is also being found out too.

I'm not arsed, by the time we reach the Premier league we'll be that rich no one will be able to touch us;)
