Jeans economics

Despite starting this thread, it occurs to me that I only really wear jeans to go out drinking these days, so that’s once a week. Rest of the time it’s workwear trousers, cargo shorts or trackies, so I can probably make one pair last a few year now.

Usually get a decent pair of Levis second hand for about 20 quid, they last years. Current pair were 6 quid from some thift shop in Lithuania.

If I buy cheap ones they just fall apart at the crotch when cycling in them every day. False economy buying cheap pairs.
Why don’t you cycle in shorts like normal people?
Why would you throw them away when you got home?

Return them and get your money back, then fill your boots at Asda.
It was £7. It would cost me £2 to park, so not worth it.

Not to the Levis shop and certainly not on a Saturday.

No in my experience. I bought three pairs of Nudie, one of them I had to re-dye after a couple of washes, one pair I got a refund on because they fell to bits and the third pair I sold on eBay.

Never again.
How soon after buying/wearing them did you wash them?
Leg length fucks me off the most, I'm not even short but need a 30 leg yet hardly anywhere does them.
You busy ower the pantomime period?

find it hard to get them to fit me properly, either too long or too short, too baggy round the crotch etc

Started buying them and chinos from spoke. You can specfy the length, the have different cuts etc, really good

Looks canny. Similar to Son of a Tailor for tops.

Levis take up your jeans for nothing. So if buying off internet you can get a longer leg and have them shortened. Great for when hunting a bargain.
That's good knowledge for the short arses amongst us.
Haven't bought any Levis for years but the ones I've had in the past have always been decent.
I'm happy with my Edwin ED-55s. Last ages. Tried Nudie ones but they weren't great and got some Paul Smith jeans which are okay but not the greatest quality.
Don't think I'm ready for supermarket jeans just yet.

I've always liked levis and have never had any other jeans for 40 years. I wear jeans nearly every day as well. It must be a generation thing.

I've got half a dozen pairs of Levis and they last ages. I'm not exactly a fashionable bloke but the day I start clothes shopping in Asda will be a sad one.
I bought some Levis 501s the other year as I'd never had some. thought they were ok when i tried them on then I wore them on a night out and discovered that theyre shite and quite baggy. I went past the date for returning them so ive still got them.
Aye the 501 is a shit cut. I don't like tight jeans but 501s take the piss.
