Your right of course....the lad was brave enough to put his head above the parapet, to lead from the front but he was not good enough to do what was asked of him and this left him exposed and open to criticism. Lad certainly ran through fire for the club.
Hull are used to finding a places for SAFC rejects

And Championship clubs have bought players from this league for less than we're selling Honeyman for. He's not that young, he'll soon be 25 and he's in the last year of his contract. It's pretty much the going rate this summer

Good if he goes, good for him and good for the club. Like many have said, it is difficult to see what his position really is. He just seems like a filler in the squad who more a less gets a guaranteed start because of being named Capitain. That appointment was utterly nuts as he shows no qualities to be such on the pitch and he was basically still very early in his first team playing career.
He has a tendency to puff his chest out and try to act the tough player, when really that doesn’t come naturally nor does he appear to have that mentality in his locker. What I mean by that is he isn’t of the Bally, Bolton, Kay mode where you can imagine opposition players thinking twice about getting physical or confronting them.
His energy levels are pretty good but he disappears in games and often hides without grasping responsibility. His distribution isn’t great nor is his reading of the game. He has no specialist skills other than he is quite good at reacting when inside the opposition box when the ball falls close to him. He is not particularly quick. Close control is pretty good but often just runs into channels without much end product. He doesn’t appear to have any great dead ball skills from set pieces.
I actually think that Marc McNulty was brought into play that more advanced supporting or number ten role.
The money should assist in bringing players that are more effective in other positions.
If we are playing three at the back Willis should be Captain as he can read and influence the whole pattern of play from his position.

Can't agree more with you there little fella, his commitment can't be questioned and he never hid. He showed passion and heart but he wasn't good enough and never really found his true position. I wish the lad well and hope he's successful I also hope that we have a few clauses added in just for good measure.

Think he might go on to do well, he’s been average here but being played in a position he’s not really good enough for while being given the armband which he isn’t cut out for all added to the pressure. Going to another team as a low key signing without the pressure of being captain might be the best for the lad. Hearing him being all captain like in the media etc just felt and sounded so unnatural, he’s not a leader at all and now not being one might free him somewhat.

I don't think angle when going for a tackle is too reliant on your team mates. There's situations where closing down can be.
I thought in the Prem he looked like a child running around a pitch his father's teamis practicing on. He was willing but so far away from where he needed to be he may as well not have bothered

I’m still perplexed that he made it as a pro. I’ve never seen anything to demonstrate what he is good at? He goes missing for minutes on end in games and literally doesn’t have a position.

I think he can only play as a midfield 3. That's it. Nothing else. Be extremely surprised if he is more than a squad player for them.
