The Isis

All the staff are going and it was those staff that really made The Isis what it was. It's really a shame. For those of you who know them; it's George's last shift tonight, Veronica's last shift on Saturday and the pub closes on the 27th July. Aaron is making a progressive move to Durham HoS but covering shifts at both currently, Megan has a choice of two Cameron's pubs in Newcastle and Chris is yet to decide on his future. They will be a sad loss!
f***ing shite that. They're all mates.

When it first reopened it wasn’t HoS who owned it and it was class then just as it’s been class under HoS’s management, so there’s no reason it can’t stay class when the new owners take over as long as they don’t fuck about with it.
Changing the staff and shutting it sounds like f***ing about with it to me.

Good to see Hodson jumping on the bandwagon. 'Important part of Sunderland's heritage' is rewriting history. Sure it was shut for years and a dive of a pub before that. Nobody gave a shit about it until it reopened.
Seems strange for Camerons not to continue the lease so it may just be a stand off between them and the university. I'd be very surprised if nobody takes it over.
Hodson loves the Isis so much he's probably never set foot in the place.

It was previously the Jarrow Brewery, until they hit a financial crisis in 2015! Very sad to see them go ......

Heard the staff have already been told which other Head of Steam(?) pub they're moving to, which suggests some big changes.
Will be a shame if Chris leaves. Good bloke and has been there since the refurb.

Letting a good set of staff go might lose it a few regulars. I'm not a regular bu any means but it's where we always start on our rare nights out in town.

To be clear. The Twitter feed says The Isis won't be closing "for good" but it will close after last orders on the 27th for an, as yet, unknown period of time.

Been a pub since 1885 according to the echo. Obviously ignoring the times it has been closed.

This isn't Nam. This is SMB. There are rules.
