6-4 6-4 3-0.

Ouch.

Yeah, obviously injury didn't help but a) third set loss from a break up was massive b) Verdasco is a wily old campaigner who won't give up. Top half of the draw looks so Djokovic now it's untrue.

As an aside, Murray's first doubles match is tomorrow, court unassigned. Where do you reckon it'll be played? Centre has two men's singles on (one of which may go long if Kyrgios goes for it) but Court 1 now has a roof and 2 women's matches versus 1 men's (which could be quick if Fed gets his groove back versus Clarke).

At least Felix is still there and looking decent, even if it is a year or two off him being a serious slam challenger (hadn't won a grand slam match before Monday, yet is the 4th favourite). Shame he'll have to play Novak in R4 if they both get there, although that would be some coming out party and story if he somehow pulled that off.

Gauff-Rybarikova moved onto Court 1 so that it can finish tonight. I was going to watch the other World Cup semi final, but that's tonight's entertainment sorted.

Got tickets for Court One tomorrow, can’t see any of them going beyond straight set wins.

I'll switch between. In terms of stance, physique and style, Gauff resembles Venus so much...

Definitely.

What a great set of tennis that was against a good grass courter, hope she can keep it up. Pleased it's Wimbledon where she's really getting her name out. What with her and Murray-Serena, there's been so much attention, exposure and stories, and it's only day 3.

Game of the day, was always going to be on Centre.

It's the tie of the whole 2nd round, and one you'd most want to see, but could just as easily be an absolute damp squib like 6-4 6-1 1-0 RET or something. Think Kyrgios really needs the first set for it to be the match people hope it'll be.

Can't see Clarke doing much at all against Federer. He apparently had a medical time out in his doubles match today, which isn't a great sign, but I'd expect one of the women's matches to go 3, or if not, at least be very competitive like 7-5 7-5, rather than simply 1 hour blow outs. If Kvitova and Serena rocked up absolute peak then yes, but neither have had the best prep coming into it.

I'm blown away by how good she is. The last teenager at Wimbledon who was this good was Boris.

Will put a bet on all three going straight set wins

@The Bridge Lad Ill be getting a ground pass tomorrow, any games I should look out for?

Lucky you. Definitely going to do that next year, although not as handy being up here. I was on Court 1 last year and thoroughly enjoyed my day, including the outside courts in the morning.

In terms of tomorrow away from the show courts, Harriet Dart is the only one of the 5 Brits on a non show court, so that could be worth checking out, and she does have a chance of making round 3 which would be great, plus Court 12 is pretty cool. In terms of men's, Fognini-Fucsovics could be decent. Fucsovic can play well on grass, and the atmosphere between Fognini-Tiafoe sounded brilliant the other day with the fans well involved and pro Fognini, so if you can get a seat there, that could be a great experience. Tsonga is still a big name and good value on grass. Bencic-Kanepi would be a particular stand out for me, but I'm not sure if you're mainly into the men's?

A lot of other big names floating around like Isner and Cilic, although they wouldn't necessarily appeal to me, while you've also got Stephen's and the 4th seed Bertens in the women's. Looks a pretty good day to go.

Federer's not really worth it as it's 1/7 for him to win 3-0. 5/6 Kvitova 2-0 could be good added to something else, but that's probably the one where I have most doubts.
