You do. Believe me I know I've done it long enough. We had a astra 1.2 turbo in for a service under warranty and the car had a problem a few weeks later and it was the typical ignition coil. So the bloke took it too the dealers and the first thing they said was can I see your service invoice. The invoice had all of the part numbers and recommended filters and she said in the service department that's how they catch people out under warranty if they don't use the vauxhall filters.

I think it's good for people to have a go at stuff .That works for other jobs too around the home
I've no interest in cars and have people will do it for nowt but I maintain and fix my motorbikes. Nothing better than being in the garage..radio on ..spanners out.
There's garages out there who aren't up to speed with some stuff on cars
Knowing what's happening to your car as you drive can only be a good thing

Yes that's correct. But the dealers are a law unto themselves and if you don't use their bits they make it awkward for the warranty. They get away with murder. It's a shame lots of garages don't have our lawyers and expertise.
What the fuck are people doing putting shit filters in new cars I always tell any apprentice you must must must use main dealer filters on car's under warranty.
