Did you pack your lanzoprazole 50mg, CeeDub.

Fear you grossly overlooked the veg. you enjoyed; but realistically they could be struck-off on cauliflower cheese grounds.

Monkfish face or the pineapple relish might be snazzy.

Blacklock does the best Sunday roast. Nothing else comes remotely close
In a bit of a cesspit IIRC there though? Few too many waifs, strays and stabbers about for my liking.

That said, can't be too careful anywhere these days what with there being nee post on a Sunday.

We were 'taken' for a Toby carvery on Saturday by my old man, and we weren't particularly looking forward to it; however, I have to say it was pretty good. Two meats, beef dripping roasties, Yorkshire pudding, crackling, stuffing, loads of vegetables that weren't overcooked and a nice thick gravy. All for £6.99 each - and you could go back for more vegetables if you wanted - which I did.

There were 4 of us in total and the two girls also had an ice cream sundae after their main course - whilst we had a second pint - both sundaes were a good size and the girls struggled to get through them. Anyway, the total cost for all 4 of us, including drinks (4 pints - the girls had the unlimited pepsi @ £3 offer) was £48 - which I though was excellent value for a good meal. I did get 10% off the food costs - using my Defence Discount card, so we got about £3-4 off the end bill, but even so it was good value.

Places I've had a lush sunday dinner recently:
The Stables - West Herrington
The Stackyard - West Herrington
The Red Lion - East Boldon
The Seaton Lane Inn - Seaham
The Alexandra - Grangetown

We went to Boulmer yesterday to the highly regarded Fishing Boat Inn - reminded me why other people's recommendations for Sunday lunch often turn out to be a disappointment.

The mothership had a lamb dinner - it had 15 items on the plate (she actually made a list in her notebook such was the level of incredulity) it was like having a carvery but without the option to chose which of the 10 veg to actually eat - frozen mash too. I wasn't actually too hungry so went for the trip of northumberland sausages which were burnt , came with 8 veg , a yorkshire pudding plus a random pig in blanket. Quantity won quality which is surpising as one of the starters was 3 tempura prawns for £9.95
