Maybe, but I hope rumours like this actually follow rumours of us dumping the high earners to pay for them.
Our parachute payment more or less covers the wage bill at the moment, we'll presumably be looking to get the percentage of wage bill to turnover down considerably before buying.

And actually I think the idea that we've told a player 'you can have 4 times what you're on' is total bollocks, we supposedly lost out on that Charlton striker for a two or three hundred pound goal bonus.

Absolutely awful unfortunately. Totally out of his depth which was surprising as he'd looked decent in the limited games he got for Everton. The side was obviously falling apart but even at the start of the season when we had a few decent results he was shite. I don't think he can actually be as bad as that though, he looked like he'd never played football never mind left back before.

It's policy to not have goal bonuses rather than we refused this individual demand for one

Probably is, he got a few games for Everton and was highly rated. Christ knows what happened to him. I doubt he's as bad as he seemed here but genuinely one of the worst footballers I've ever seen based on those performances.
