Cricklewood Travelodge for me again. Canny few seemed to be up that way for the Checkatrade judging by the queues for breakfast at Wetherspoons on the day of the match.

Luton Holiday Inn, 25 miles from ground, pool, sauna and leisure facilities - oh and all you can eat breakfast :D

O'Neill's in Kings Cross was full of Sunderland fans after the match, as was the Euston Flyer.

Each to their own but I spent 2 hours in a pub in Watford in 1998 with a dozen of my mates and it was shite so won't be hurrying back. End of the day it's nothing town near London.

Where did you drink after the game mate, Camden or Covent Garden? No mate we went to Watford! :)

Some fair points.. But I'd rather be canny drunk nearer my hotel than deal with a tube journey and forget to get off as a result of how much drink I've consumed. More convenience really.

Got less time this time around, the idea of a few celebratory drinks ( fingers crossed) on a Sunday evening ...bit of scran, in a decent bar with a few like minded fans and no real hassle suits me . Either in or near the Watford Jurys Inn ..straight on the motorway on Monday morning...not Trafalgar Square I admit , but could still be a canny end to proceedings .

We were driving and staying in Watford Holiday Inn until this afternoon........Scrapped the lot and booked the train and Staying in the Travelodge Covent Garden.

[Ibis Hotel, Earl’s Court. Saturday 25th May, one night only 3 twin rooms available, will take £70 per room cost £ 100 tel: 07801700609

We are doing Easy Hotel Luton this time to cut down driving. Double rooms for £25 per night right beside the railway station. £10 day return to London and there in 30-40 mins depending on train.

Biggest saving by far here is the 2 hours driving each way from getting to somewhere in central London. Drive to Luton and back will be a doddle compared to last time.

That hotel is very basic as we stayed there for Luton away as well but its clean enough and its just a place to sleep really so dont see the point in paying more if we dont have to.

£12.5 fuel each, £12.50 per night hotel each and £52 tickets each means that's travel, 2 nights hotels and match tickets for £110 including the trains to London. Comfortable drive down Saturday morning and much shorter drive home on the Monday having avoided central London and the M25.

its an option for any (older) folk not wanting to visit CG or TS, and half the price of a central london one

We are staying in Luton and going to Trafalgar Square. Probably just as quick to get there from Luton and back than it is from say Watford? We check in at 3pm Saturday and there is a direct train at 3:28 that takes 24 mins to St Pancras. We were in Hounslow last time and it took 40 mins on the tube, so Luton is similar but half the price and closer to the North East by road.

Hounslow, near Islseworth is south of London IIRC so will always be slightly longer. We stopped there for City final in 2014 and it took us about 50mins by car. Were fetching the little one this time so Luton overnight is fine, straight to Wembley, parkup for 10:15ish

If anyone has free cancellation for Sunday night in an expensive hotel a very good replacement can be had for The City Apex hotel on booking.com for £89 a steal for a City of London Hotel.

I know someone trying to sell a family room in the Jurys Inn Watford on the Sunday night of anyone interested.

Just read the reviews of the place we're stopping in. Sounds an awful lot like the Blackpool B&B I was at for my stag

Fuck it, its the footy and drinking that I'm going for, not the hotel.
