I agree completely with that. However the league is over and this is now a separate competition. So how can this be our lowest home attendance?

One of the worst excuses I've seen so far is "it's too late to take the kids out". Which to me translates as " if I go to the match with the bairns I can't get pissed, so will buy loads of cans and sit in front of the telly".

What?

Find this fan bashing hilarious.

You don’t pay your money to sit with other people, you pay to watch and support the team. Be annoyed with the team and manager that bottled going up automatically.

I'd say getting promoted is more important than the Checkatrade final. But maybe that's just me.

Without a doubt.

I don’t know about ‘look odd’. I don’t think most care but it’s definitely unusual. But then, plenty of fans have shown they’re spoilt brats recently.

That maybe true for older kids but unfair on parents who have younger ones that usually go to bed around 8pm.

It's going to look odd if your lowest home league attendance of the season occurs in your most important game of the season.
It is odd, dont understand it myself. Also remember when you's were in the CL and your gates were lower than league games, dont get it. The place should be packed out tomorrow.

However, given the negative tactics and poor football I can see why people cant get excited about it. Rightly or wrongly the Wembley final killed off all the momentum we had. 45,000 of us there and we played 1/4 of the game without a striker...raising the white flag on that day when we all paid a lot of money to be there has killed the enthusiasum of a lot of people. Its sad but true.
Don't think it's got owt to do with the Checkatrade. Following the final we won at Accrington and Rochdale. After the Rochdale game we were all up a height. The Coventry game was a shock to the system, then momentum was lost when we couldn't beat Portsmouth or Peterborough. By the time we were getting beat off Fleetwood and Southend it didn't matter anymore. Those last four games, if not just the last two, will be as much a reason as any people aren't bothering as any other. Which is a shame.

I do find the club's approach to be a bit odd mind. Considering the noise they've made to try and draw big crowds earlier in the season it's all been very low-key and left to fan groups for one of the most important games of the season. Problems to the point that some people who want to go have found it hard to buy tickets. Saw it mentioned earlier in the thread maybe they've gauged the mood and didn't want to make things worse. My take on that though is they've done the easy part, pulling in those crowds when everyone's happy. Now's the time it would make a difference and they seem to have left it. All while fans have a go at each other about only being interested during the easy part when everyone's happy.

If this was to get in the Premier from the Championship, the kick off time would hardly get a mention. There would be a massive buzz and it would probably be the biggest gate .
It’s league one and we ballsed up the top2. People can’t hack it , simple .

Said it before , we played very well v Pompey and Doncaster at home . It’s the division, not the kick off time . Not seen many teams playing great football in this league . Luton , Coventry and probably Oxford at the sol. Could include Fleetwood and Accrington in parts .

At Wembley I doubt many fans wanted Wyke on the pitch that day . Power came on for Grigg for extra strength in midfield, as we’d lost a grip. If we’d gone 442 with Grigg Wyke , we’d have been more vulnerable. Ok, it ended 1-1, but you could see what the manager was trying to do. Wyke had not looked fit or sharp or confident.

Let’s not forget that whilst we’re disappointed in the potential attendance it will be second highest crowd that Pompey will of played in front of for a non cup game this season, the highest was also at the SOL

Also Charlton are making a big fuss about selling 20000 for their home tie with Doncaster

The game two weeks ago was the highest league crowd they've played in front of for nearly 10 years. This will be the 2nd highest in the last 7.

Booze has a lot to answer for as well. There will be a canny chunk of people who won't put anything before a couple of drinks. They probably won't admit it, but the match will be getting in the way of drinking time.

At the Doncaster match the other week the little'un needed the toilet about 10 minutes into the second half. I couldn't believe how many people were down there drinking pints and acting casual as if they were in a pub. They seemed to have no intention on going back to their seat.

this

Saturday night on the TV and although they won't admit it plenty would rather spend money getting pissed watching it in the pub

and then they'll be first wanting tickets should we make the final
