I hope I’m not jinxing myself here, but from memory, the League Cup from Newcastle was fine last time. Think we left Saturday afternoon, maybe 1-2ish. Got searched & cans took off us, but jumped on the train no bother.

On the 9:58am from Newcastle this year.
Hope they’re not searching everyone’s bag it’ll take ages

Don’t envy any of you lot getting the train down, paying a small fortune to stand for hours. Much rather go in the car.
Grand Central are causing a lot of anxiety for many, telling a lot of people I know different information, which makes me think they are very unprepared for this weekend.

We’ve got seats and got the hotel + trains for £160. 2 nights. Cheap as chips

Train ( 1st class ) + 2 nights hotel + club wembley is costing me £500 plus additional alcohol I consume in covent garden / trafalgar square on Saturday !! I just hope we win the trophy

What do people reckon it’ll be like on the Saturday afternoon? Got a reservation on the 15.56. I reckon there may well be a back log from the morning which may cause chaos! Although the train I’m getting is a cross country from Glasgow and I’m changing at York :?:

You’ll be fine on that Train at that time.

Can’t help but think people are worrying unnecessarily about trains. Was this an issue back in 2014?

Only with Grand Central who sold more Tickets than there was space.
LNER Trains were very busy and some full to Capacity, but because they run every 1/2hr from NCL there was space for everyone on the Saturday and the Monday.
Can’t comment on the Sunday Mind!!

I’m traveling on Saturday from Durham at 11.4o. The earliest train back available on the Sunday after game. I’m not worried. Whatever will be will be.......

Mind you - travelling on my own essentially. Hate to think I had my family with me.

I think I'm getting too old for this. I'm not looking forward to the wife and I herded like cattle for three hours plus on a train. Unfortunately, this looks like what it will be.

Well as I've got a flexi ticket I'm rocking up early and will if lucky get on an earlier train than intended but at least get in to any queue in time for my originally intended one.

It's what huge numbers of people up and down the country do every day from Monday to Friday, week in, week out. Quoted on another post.

Yeah, terrible isn't it? Doesn't make it right, especially as this is a trip away rather than the commute to work. However, I guess that not many travel on a train three hours plus each day, each way!

Can’t believe they have the right to search you. Surely a dry train means that alcohol can’t be consumed but what the fuck has to do with them what’s in your bags!
