Latest boxing crack

Aye...with Eddie I’ll give it a pinch of salt.

You'll not find many who dislike Hearn as much as me, but I see no reason to doubt him or Sky here. Arum clearly wants it to be on UK PPV - about a 45 seconds in here on an interview 2 months ago:

I liked on a different IFL interview when Arum said 'you can't do PPV here in the States in the afternoon', yet the fucker has no qualms putting it on PPV in the UK at 4am :). Given the choice of PPV at 5/5.30pm or 4am, I know which one I'd always go for.

I'm not even sure what we're debating here marra, ha :)

This was Khan's last fight on his 3 fight Matchroom/Sky deal and aye, Hearn/Sky were clearly expecting that to end with the Khan-Brook PPV and Khan f'd them off as you say, so they're clearly not going to have as much loyalty / put as much effort into promoting him. If it was Crawford-Brook (someone who has been on Sky for most of his career, certainly peak years anyway and will likely to continue for as long as he stays in the sport) then yeah, they probably would have given up one of their (generally frowned upon by the public) PPV slots reluctantly, but when it's likely this would have been Khan's last fight on the Sky platform and the main promoter specifically wanted UK PPV, then I genuinely don't blame them for passing it up. If Canelo-Jacobs can be on normal Sky and off UK PPV, this fight certainly could/should be.

If there wasn't as insistence for this to be UK PPV them I'm sure it would have been on normal Sky.

Think Crawford-Khan is a really poor main event for a PPV fight but the undercard looks very good if it holds together. Genuinely competitive steps up for Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson with 2 other competitive looking fights involving Adames and Verdejo

Literally just seen it...
Allen v Browne will be fun.

Not sure about the rest , need to have a proper look like.

Kelly fighting some polish kid?

But it's a Sky headliner at 10pm.

Browne fought this guy 2 weeks ago in an apparent tune up:
BoxRec: Kamil Sokolowski

Ended up getting dropped and was by all accounts gifted a 57-56 'robbery' to try and save face. To think he is headlining a card when you look back on all the quality main headliners we have had from 2012-2016/7, especially against a novelty act in Dave Allen is really sad to see. Hearn's attention is obviously in America, but he's just taking the piss now. The Saturday Fight Night standard is so low now. Even Kelly, was about to face a live opponent last time out, had second thoughts and now back to tune ups.

Think you can almost stick a fork in the Sky domestic boxing scene, it's pretty much done. Horrific.

Saw somebody on Off The Hook posting that Hearn is deliberately putting together awful domestic cards hoping that Sky end their exclusive deal with Matchroom early so he can focus solely on DAZN.

What makes it even worse for British boxing is that after a really promising 2017 Warren/BT have been utter shite as well.

@SkyAdamSmith - Twitter Search

I doubt Adam Smith won't have had as many people individually tweeting him, not even responding to one his tweets, just generally tagging him in to express their disappointment / concern.

Never thought of that, but that's an interesting theory. Something surely has to give soon as it's beyond a joke now.

Yeah, to be fair, the BT stuff has been just as bad recently.

I agree. But the o2 card is okay.

I thought the bt card on friday was ok anarl.

Remember I’m saying okay ffs ;):)

Boxing on a high at the moment so managers/boxers are upping their game with promoters. plus with the introduction of ITV cards are now starting to thin out.

tbf I enjoyed the BT card (Liam Williams has come on leaps and bounds)

One of the best performances I have seen against Heffron, not sure what happened in the second Smith fight

I suppose being Sunderland, Josh Kelly being on it will appeal on here, even if he seems very reluctant to step up. Chisora against a nobody should never be appreciated just because it's not on PPV - surely we haven't let standards slip that low? Gashi got knocked out by Takam, who in turn got knocked out by Chisora - why not just make Chisora-Takem II? Well apart from £££ of course.

Browne-Allen is a bit of a novelty, joke act between 2 who don't take the sport seriously and the fact it's headlining just makes it worse. The only actual fight is Cordina-Townend and even then, Cordina is a huge 1/25 favourite, but for a 3rd or 4th fight on a regular card it's fine - just a shame the rest is wank.
