Would like to express how much of an honour it was to break through into senior football at such a special club, that is Sunderland AFC. I had many blessed moments during my time at Sunderland. Wishing everyone involved with the club all the best in the future.
Empty rhetoric. Is there such a thing as full rhetoric?

Ahhhhh no more threads , although i appreciate whet you have done there.

The average wage in the uk is about 20-30k a year.
He will be getting this per week.

He won’t be arsed.

Doubt he will mind. The manager has hardly even heard of him, he's basically going there as a good young prospect. Doubt mid table French sides are throwing 20-30k a week on players like that. Probably be getting ten grand or something mind, so not exactly struggling to make ends meet. Still, a footballer will judge his earnings at the end of his career, not on his first big contract, this might be a great move in that respect or, if he can't force himself into the side, he might find future contracts are worth a lot less. Time will tell on that one, as it will with Asoro, another with one big contract but possibly struggling to get an improvement next time

Club clearly not happy like.

'Josh Maja has completed a move to Bordeaux.

The 20-year old Sunderland AFC academy graduate has joined the French Ligue 1 side on a permanent basis.'

Who gives a fuck. Putting being a Sunderland supporter aside, it’s an absolutely f***ing terrible move for him and his career. Moved on just to make a quick buck - and presumably some kind of transfer fee for his agent, whereas, if he’d hung about until his contract was up, he’d automatically be looking at a better wage offer, his value would be up anyway and he’d probably even be looking at going to a better club in a league which would suit him more. His agent is a complete clown and has in all likelihood done damage to the kids career to boot.

I think he may have erred but time will be the arbiter, marra....

We move on just lets hope we get someone who can replace his goals.

Shame like but he will regret it IMO.

Wonder what wage they are paying him?

Regardless of whether or not he gets any game time, he'll still be offered an opportunity to return to the UK if it doesn't work out in France, likely at a championship club. It could hamper his development if he's not playing though.
