Ironic cheers for mcgeoch

While it's obvious he been given a specific job to do and does it well, I noticed tonight (more than previously) that he does seem to pass the ball back when there's an free player sideways or slightly ahead. It does stifle any attempt at building or maintaining tempo.

When was there an ironic cheer? If there was one, I didn't notice it.

I thought he was good tonight, much better than Cattermole. He deserves a start.

You do realise I was reffering to him being a mag and us beating them last week.
 
He just seems intelligent, too intelligent for some of our fans.

People round me moaning about him keeping the ball before he sprays it wide to set us away for the 2nd goal. He just keeps the ball and wants to wait for the right time to play forward. Absolutely fuck all wrong with that. If he tore around the pitch kicking lumps out of people he’d be loved by the ones who slate him.

I've no idea what you are talking about for ironic cheers.

I do agree he is one of our best players and should be first choice.

Aye I never heard any ironic cheers like :confused: and the only time I heard people shouting shoot was when the ball was dropping to him at the edge of the box, when it’s shouted to everyone..

Strange thread tbh but aye he played well

Where in the ground was this? I was at the back of the north east corner and didn’t hear owt like that, everyone round me was praising him and rightly so as you say he ran the show and looked sharp all night. Has to be back in for the league matches.

I think the OP is talking bollocks.

The only ironic cheers were for the ref.
 
He offers so much more in the middle than Cattermole and Power.

It is a little frustration that his first thought is to move the ball backwards though.

Interestingly the two occasions that he checked himself and played the ball forwards, we scored.

Was certainly better then Power. Unlucky to lose his spot. He needs to look forward with the ball more though, reminds me of Bridcutt where he had passes on and would take extra touches.

There’s was one as he ran backwards with the ball before he passed it to Gooch for his goal.
