What is, VAR?Bit dramatic mind.
Goal line technology is based on 7 cameras in the goal, all calibrated before each match. Based on the feats, it's calculated whether the ball has passed the line. That is not compatible with judging whether there is an offside or not.If you read on, you will see that I think offside should be the same.
It doesn’t work as it is, but there’s no reason it shouldn’t. It’s just geometry
It’s exactly the same principle. It’s whether something is over another line at a point in time.Goal line technology is based on 7 cameras in the goal, all calibrated before each match. Definitely wasn't a clear and obvious mistake.
There should be a referee's decision option, as in cricket, when it's so close.

Granted, the technology may not be as instant right now (the line nor the moment in time is static), but it is far from impossible
Why did he decide to review if he gave the goal and lined everyone back up? Also, was the ref 100% certain that the ball had definitely left the player who passed the ball before waghorn was offside?
At the moment yeah. But I’m saying the technology will evolve sufficiently. But you do not have the chance to calculate based on a number of cameras. All decisions will be based on judgement.
Cheers. The onfield ref didn't - it was the VAR ref. All goals are checked in the background as a matter of course, and the VAR ref will intervene if he thinks something needs to be looked at.
Stop pointing out reality please. Not the time or place for itThe onfield ref didn't - it was the VAR ref. All goals are checked in the background as a matter of course, and the VAR ref will intervene if he thinks something needs to be looked at.
I doubt it, but won't deny itAt the moment yeah. But I’m saying the technology will evolve sufficiently.
Why? Perfectly good decision. I don’t understand what the commentator is twisting about, unless he’s got a bet on Derby.
The right decision has been found. Better to wait 30 seconds than a team get a goal wrongly allowed.
Bollocks. VAR was brought in to correct obvious mistakes missed by the officials.
There was no obvious error. It’s still unclear and even if he is fractionally off by a few mm’s you can’t be overturning that.
It’s a complete and utter farce
It stopped the game for about 4mins, and is supposed to be used for clear and obvious decisions which that wasn,t , if he was offside it was by mmWhy? Perfectly good decision. I don’t understand what the commentator is twisting about, unless he’s got a bet on Derby.
