VARguments

Why can't they have GPS trackers in players vests?
In the front or back? What if the player is side on? Not trying to be funny, I just think there are practical limitations.

Personally I think tonight's decision was correct, I just don't understand what took so long. As soon as you get the picture with the line you can see his leg is offside and from there it's a black and white decision. I'm not a fan of VAR for more subjective decisions as that often creates more controversy.

BBC commentator Simon Brotherton said that the referee reviewing it at VAR headquarters in Stockley Park was...……..David Coote.
Remember him ? Peterborough at home ? Say no more !!

Goal line issues are not debatable nor can they be interpreted more than one way, it’s over or it’s not.,, that’s why the technology works
If you read on, you will see that I think offside should be the same.

It doesn’t work as it is, but there’s no reason it shouldn’t. It’s just geometry

Incompetence personified

It doesn’t though because when a goal goes in, you celebrate regardless.

You have to think if that was us who conceded, would you be happy for it to stand even though it’s offside, because it would’ve taken 30 seconds to check?
.... and you get the "counter celebration" of a goal being disallowed .... Everyone's a winner !

Football rules will never be an exact science, VAR or no VAR. It will always be a matter of opinion and interpretation, even among unbiased referees.
