The club has a choice to make.

Keep him and he goes for nothing. But, he scores the goals that gets us up so fair enough.

Keep him, and we don't go up and we lose out on a payout.

Sell him. Get some money and attempt to bring a new body in who wants to be here.

The only way we will know what is the best will be in May.

Yeah. To be fair you see it a lot at this level anyways.

So why not let that happen, then come out and say ‘news to us’. Make Maja and his agent look bad.

What has even been categorically reported on sky anyway other than speculation? What has been said my Maja and the agent?

Why is our f***ing owner even on Twitter?
sky said he wouldnt sign..corrobated by stewart..they would have gone on sky anyway this way stewart got the message out..
gaurdioal is in the papers talking about losaong an academy player..same thing..

It's the pre contract business that's screwed us... His agent will have had talks with clubs who say they will will pay massive sign on fee and make him a millionaire over night its illogical for us to think he was ever going to sign... The 64 dollar question is does he play or not... he probably doesn't care as saving himself for future career .. That's business let's hope there is a new hero around the corner.... Clouds and silver lining etc

No I don’t, but if the club hadn’t gone public regarding the deadline in the first place, do I think we’d have had a better chance of keeping him until the summer? Absolutely I do, yes.
How do you work that out?
In theory the contract offered in May would be the same as todays.
The club would also need some kind of commitment from the player as we are in no position to carry passengers.
Clearly the agent is up to something, we will find out in due course.

Yeh fair few on here think they should be less open. Think I like it though, embarrass the piss takers I say.
Yeah maybe its ok at Eastleigh but much bigger club like us and it will get out of control like it has today.Charlie on talk sport yet again today loving the attention to much for me

he failed twice in the championship with two diofferent clubs and had managers who didnt play so its the opinion of industry experts..
He's still relatively young for a big centre forward. That type of player, for some reason not known to me, tends to take longer to reach peak levels. He might have improvement in him. Many so called "industry experts" know approximately zero. Think about the number of players apparently written off as younger players who later end up doing well. Adopting the stance that if he's failed before at a certain level he's forever doomed to fail at that level doesn't stack up to deeper scrutiny, either in life or in football. But, you're entitled to your opinion, that goes without saying. Maybe our opinions are capable of improvement too, or maybe they're forever doomed to remain at a certain superficial level. Who knows? Certainly not me! Either way, can we agree that the remainder of the season is the priority? We can deal with the Championship as & when are in it.

we get a payout in the summer either way..

I wonder if him telling Ross he wants to stay and today's events are linked. If that's got back to the agent he might be worried SAFC have talked him into signing as he would lose out on a slice of the fee/signing on fee.

Call Sky Sports, announce he won't be signing, rock the boat with SAFC and try to get other clubs to bid. Given how Asoro's agent went on I wouldn't put it past them.

Should be suspended as an agent for unprofessional conduct and attempting to get a clubs player tapped up. Need some real regulations and guidelines for these Clownshoe Agents to follow.

Yeah. To be fair you see it a lot at this level anyways.

The club will make their decison and only time will tell. Same as kone, if we had sold him they would have been hell on. 12 months later we would have all happily driven the fucker somewhere else.

Donald will do what he thinks is best for the club.

By far the most sensible option for Maja is to say thank you but I will see out my contract until the summer and review my options then. I am not signing a new contract now and I am also not allowing you to sell me like a piece of meat to someone who suits you. Pickford put £30m in Short’s coffers and Carroll £35m in Ashley’s. Maja needs to do what is best for Maja not Donald and his mate.

I don't disagree, but what happens if he suffers a bad injury on the last moth of the season.

that means unless the new club signs an injured player, he will be with wages after july.

improbable I know but as a self employed person I would want the new contract asap.

In any case if wages goes up from £1200 a week to £10,000 a week, I would want it to start asap.
