Yes, and for me Maja could well be being led down a blind alley by his agents greed, at 20 he needs another season to make sure he can make that step up or be the forgotten man in a team where he can't even make the bench ;)
I agree

Football clubs should have made a stand against agents years ago. Unfortunately the bigger clubs with the power to do it don’t give a shit because the financial aspect doesn’t impact on them. And that is my overall thought and has been for some time it’s not specifically related to the rights and wrongs of today.

I’m stuck on thinking is he good enough for The Championship ? He’s been excellent at this level this season in League one, but can he make the step up, he didn’t do very well last season

Daft to blame Maja! He signs for us not knowing whether we will be promoted but gets a salary increase or waits till the end of season and, if he chooses to go, can get a better salary and a huge signing on fee.

If Maja wanted to sign the contract he would, it's as simple as that.

He doesn't want to, he wants more money, the agent is taking the brunt of it, so his player still has the good young kid reputation.

End of the day, he's no different than 99% of all footballers and i don't blame him.

That's just your take on it. It's not a fact.

He's about to get more money from us but there are lowly premiership teams desperate to cling to their top flight status who will throw the TV money about.

I agree with that last bit though

Then he’s a moron. He’s 20 years old and has fifteen career goals. One of those - ONE - at a higher level than the third tier.

There’s still very scant evidence to suggest he could do it in the Championship. There is zero evidence to suggest he could do it in the Premiership.

Well considering it’s been reported he has had premier league interest he can’t be that much of a moron. If HE thinks he’s good enough to play in the premier league that’s his choice. It’s not holding the club to ransom though which was he comment I made that started this whole debate.

Whoever he sines for will make him a millionaire for Fooks sake

I hate to break it to you, but Maja not signing a contract that he and his agent actually negotiated for was always gonna go this way, deadline or no deadline...

I think you should admit that your allegiance leans more to Maja, then the club. You and Rat would be eaten alive at the negotiating table.

Exactly. If you ask for X, are offered X, then decide you want Y at the last minute - then you’ve negotiated in bad faith.

The club needs to tell these people to fuck off. It’s incredibly important. It’s the sets the tone for everything that the new owners want to achieve and how they want to do it. We can’t revert back to “just pay then what they want” at the first hurdle. We just can’t.

Like I said in an earlier post - the message has to be that if you want to take the piss out of SAFC, you’ll need to be waving a CV around with a fuck load more than 15 senior career goals on it.

If he signs elsewhere for less money than we’ve offered, fair enough. What odds do you reckon I’d get for that though?

So he was telling Ross yesterday he agrees and today... the fans will not like Maja s stance no matter what the spin. That is poor form by anyones standard even a footballer.
If this is the case I don't like it and JR probably doesn't like it either...if he doesn't want to sign sell him if possible
