I saw it earlier in the week and really enjoyed it. Loved the Wayne’s World reference. The lad playing Freddie was brilliant. If you treat it as entertainment rather than a history lesson, you’ll have a great time.

Just shows that some folk have nee taste in music or appreciation for how big a band Queen were back in the day.

There a few timeline issues (Under Pressure featured in the '84-'85 segment when it was out in 1980) but on the whole, it was a brilliant movie.

I'm concerned about the absence of John Deacon as Executive Producer. There was quite a few in-jokes through the film regarding him and I fear that only 2/3 of the facts were true.

After all, it's patently clear that Deacon didn't come up with the bass-line for "Another One Bites The Dust" (it was Bernard Edwards of Chic, he used it for "Good Times")

The breathtaking bit was the last segment where the Live Aid gig was re-enacted. Some awesome CGI, great (virtual) camera angles and the whole atmosphere was superbly-caught.

Saw it last night. As an entertainment it is a thing to behold, some great acting, great cinematography and the music is beautifully done. However, as a self confessed Queen geek, it was hard to ignore the huge flaws in both the timeline and the story. I realise it was hard to tell such a lengthy and dramatic true story in around 2 hours and indeed, a 4 hour epic would probably still see interesting bits left out, but there was fake stuff that wasn't necessary and real stuff omitted to the detriment of the overall movie. That said, the cinema was packed and there were plenty of smiling faces and quite a buzz afterwards, people were quick to start texting and putting stuff on Facebook, I think the casual fan and the general public will really enjoy it. I will continue to look forward to the rumoured 3hr+ Directors cut - but knowing Queen that'll be 5-10 years away.

Rami Malek becomes Freddie Mercury in this movie, it is worth seeing it for that reason alone.

Haven’t seen the fillum yet but if your in London. Carnaby Street is well worth a look. It has Queen themed Christmas lights and has a shop which has some great photos, costumes from the film and original lyrics written on a4 paper for some of their songs

Being a Queen fan since 74 I pretty much know everything Queen, and I have to say the time lines in the film are way off, a typical example, performing Fat Bottomed Girls on the 74 USA tour.. It wasn't written till 78, Freddie having the full on short hair/ tache gay look when recording We Will Rock You.. 4yrs too soon.. However..

I guess the target audience for the film is the people who have a copy of Greatest Hits Album (1 in every 3 UK housholds apparently) so wont really know the flawed timelines, but to us Queen geeks.

Anyway.. ignoring the above, the film is indeed very good (bollocks to the critics.. always hated Queen).

Rami Malek is extraordinary, he absolutely nails Freddies speaking voice, persona and mannerisms as does Gwillym Lee as Brian May.

The live footage is extraordinary.. my ears are still ringing.

I went to see it today . Factual inaccuracies all over the place , but immensely entertaining. The Live Aid finale was tremendous. The public seem to be loving it ( based on IMDb responses etc) unlike a number of "expert " critics .... But that's Queen for you !

I saw it last night and thought it was very very good. I have always like Queen but I have spoken to several people who have seen it and arent Queen fans and they have all said to a man and woman that it was brilliant.

If I was being critical some of the dates didnt corrspond to reality but they had a lot to pack into a couple of hours so Ill cut them some slack with artistic liscence. They could have done more with the lad that played Roger Taylor's hair as that didnt move with the times - picky I know. However, on the whole a very very good film and you can see why people are packing out cinemas to see it. The big screen and sound certainly suits Queen.

Agree and I noted the timeline mistakes but forgive them as they had to squeeze a lot in.

If I was Roger Taylor I would be a little upset as the lad that played him hardly changed his hair which Roger certainly did! :-0 splitting hairs I know.
