He's like the Pied Piper, but leading a load of simpetoons over a cliff back to the championship.

Notice that net spend gets an airing again.

Its a completely hollow argument as well. If you sold your house in a nice area, only to buy another for a fraction less in the same area, you aren't, all of a sudden slumming it and it is your choice of house, despite a minus net spend.

Actually its not even like that. A better analogy would be that you were living in a 4 bedroomed detached and moved to a 5 bed by increasing your mortgage by 100k - and then screaming foul play because a bloke who lived in a tent two years ago spent 200k to get a three bedroomed semi.

It's an odd article. Caulkin is usually one of the more competent writers around. Is he taking the piss? It's not easy to tell. I like how he refuses to mention relegation, with arl its rafagation connotations, instead opting for "demotion" which perhaps sounds gentler on the mag lug. I also like how he makes no reference to the possibility of the Stout Spaniard actually doing his job & improving players with his superior coaching skills. A bit like, er, I don't know, I'll pluck a name at random, maybe Jack Ross might do. Best of arl, I like the avalanche of replies to the piece.

DO WE need to start a new RAFFAGATION thread:lol:

Just like to say that I'm enjoying this thread, that's all !

Oh yes, Caukin provided a nice boost today:lol:
