The king has got no clothes, but let us hope the unenlightened continue to believe their position is nothing to do with their truly brilliant manager.;)

Self declared best coach in the PL, John Carver, will be seething ...
... especially as he kept Newcastle up while Benitez relegated them
As I mentioned on another thread, it's time for Get Carver, starring Steve Grandma Bruce as Jack Carver. Hoying the FSW off what used to be the Gatesheed Trinity Car Park. Updated scenes including shop shouting & Gallowa biffing. Specialist consultancy roles for Wraith & Carver hissel. A blue plaque for the Strawberry. I can see it arl. Now we just need a large derelict site on which to build some new film studios. I wonder where that could be?

Sign of insanity replying to yer arn post but I forgot to mention the obvious omission: Ashley as the the John Osborne criminal mastermind, Cyril 'Joe' Kinnear.

Almost guarantee they wouldn’t be bottom if they had Gayle and Mitrovic up front still. Can’t just get rid of goalscorers like them when the rest of your teams shit

Both odd players. Gayle is clearly too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League. He's exactly the sort of player they needed at the weekend to nick them a goal though. As one of the Soccer Saturday pundits said at the weekend, Mitrovic is both one of Fulham's biggest assets and one of their biggest problems, in that the team needs to be built around him. I can understand why Benitez sold him but what I don't understand is why he's signed two very similar players in Joselu (similar and not as good in this case) and Rondon.

It's an odd article. Caulkin is usually one of the more competent writers around. Is he taking the piss? It's not easy to tell. I like how he refuses to mention relegation, with arl its rafagation connotations, instead opting for "demotion" which perhaps sounds gentler on the mag lug. I also like how he makes no reference to the possibility of the Stout Spaniard actually doing his job & improving players with his superior coaching skills. A bit like, er, I don't know, I'll pluck a name at random, maybe Jack Ross might do. Best of arl, I like the avalanche of replies to the piece.

He's a superb writer.. the stuff he does on us is brilliant.

Maybe he just knows how to sell papers so panders to the Nashun/he's too biased as a Mag himself.
He does similar stuff on us . Too nostalgic. He can’t write anything without mentioning our industrial heritage . I think he is very good but brilliant is a bit strong

I once knew a bloke who had been married several times. Arl his wives looked the shem.

Don't forget Muto.

He looks likes he's won a fans competition to play.

Just out of interest, where do the morons get net spend every time?

Found a website that reckons in 4 year they have spent £221 million but only got back £150 million in sales?

Would mean Ashley has funded £71 million?

That'll be the same money they claim he's used to buy Hoose of Fraser?

. "Sooner or later, this version of Newcastle United will grind anybody down, even one of the great managers of his generation, "

Why is it so hard for these knackers to understand his generation is way back in history?
Thing is that this version of the Mags is, undeniably, his version made up predominantly of his signings, coached in his style, motivated by him.

Caulkin writes like a bellend. What a heap of shit. Sorcerer of Istanbul ffs.

Not Burnley. If Cardiff and Huddersfield change managers then who knows.
i think warnock might of gone if they had lost to fulham, that murphy lad looks a good player mind ya,much better that the scum version

The most ardent of Liverpool fans would struggle to argue that they weren’t massively fortunate that day.

“The Sorcerer” hardly got his tactics and team selection right considering they were 3-0 down st half time. It should have been more and Milan fluffed some fantastic opportunities throughout.
AC missed good chances at 3-2 and 3-3,liverpool barely created a chance, but took 2 not even half chances and a penalty and even that need 2 bites,
