Your posts are v good mate...there is a widespread view now amongst other clubs fans and media that only mags have Geordie supporters...which as you have said is nonesense..i wonder though about kids at school now and this "if you are a Geordie you must be a Mag"is it putting pressure on to steer away from supporting the lads.Up to safc Geordie suppporters to continue the support through family lines i suppose,
As for Durham Mags,when we won cup in 73 Durham was awash with red and white.
 
They are vile creatures. Call themselves geordies, they refuse to go to SJP but are some of the most obsessive anti-safc bellends going. Will sit in a pub watching all of “wah” home games streamed whilst drinking cheap fosters.

Scratters most of them. I can tell in 5 minutes if I meet someone from Durham if they will be a mag or not.

At the end of the day where you lived and who you supported was a lot simpler before a lot of the old pit villages in Durham and Northumberland were bulldozed in the 50's and 60's and their communities dispersed to new settlements all over the North East nearer to the East coast pits.

I suppose its a reminder for us of how people once lived in pretty awful housing conditions around small collieries in villages that were slowly dying. But in a couple of generations the "Mags" of Durham will be assimilated...... their resistance is futile.

So if it's the case of supporting your local team, the folk of blackhall, horden, Peterlee, easington, wingate, south Hetton and so on should support Hartlepool?

Well it's probably true, but I'm not fussed who they support. It's cringeworthy people pretend to be geordies when they're not.
If someone in the north east wanted to support Man City.....it wouldn't make them a manc. The north east has ended up falsely binary between geordies and mackems. But there's so much more to it. Every town should have its own identity, like south shields sand dancers
