Makes me think its a bit under the weather, looking at the picture, feathers look a bit puffed out so somethings not right. It's a female sparrowhawk. Unusual that it stayed here for so long. Usually they are very shy and easily scared away.
Killing machines mate, lost 14 tumblers over a 3 week period 2 years ago. About 3 occasions i was not far away and chased it off but the damage was done by then.it was a large female, most likely feeding chicks but i had a male harris hawk for 2 years so i cannot complain ! Only doing what hawks do.Had a one in my back garden 6 weeks ago, ripped a doves head off and its heart out, feathers + guts all over the garden i had the pleasure of shovelling it up and putting it in my wheelie bin

Defo female. Male has slate grey back and rust coloured bars on the front. Lovely creature.
Male eats small sing birds, female will tackle everything up to jackdaws and pigeons.
Possibly mate, could have been a bit hungry,so could explain not being bothered about your close proximityI was thinking it's still young - barely past fledgling.
It's a bit nippy and windy today as well, so she could just be having a bad hair day.
Excellent mate, more interesting is who is the geezer with the full back tattoo of charlie and the chocolate factory. Is that you? Ha haTook this photo last yearLogon or register to see this image

This one visits our garden quite often. That's a pigeon which it is pulling to bits.
A buzzard once flew at me while I was on me bike. I can confirm they are big bastardsWay too small to be a buzzard.
Probably. We get them and always look them up on Google images,as they sometimes vary in appearance. Male and female look different. I would think, of the common birds it could be would be a Kestral*. But looks a bit too big to be that.
Falco Tinnunculus actually*Kestrel
Mostly carrion eaters mr h,so your white chicken legs would have been safe.A buzzard once flew at me while I was on me bike. I can confirm they are big bastards
