Hedworth cup final day at Whitburn. Glorious day. Missed thr first match between Sunderland and shotley bridge but second semi hetton Lyons posted 192 so its not looking good for the village here

Chester 2s won the league 40 over comp and south north the 2s t20 in a busy day for NEPL second XI cricket. South north twos would be worth asking to join the first team pyramid if league are struggling for teams - looked a good side what I saw down at sacriston this afternoon

Have South Northumberland 2nds won the league?
 
The top 6 or 7 sides in the NEPL 2nd team league would definitely do ok if there was a single structure for all teams.

They will be seconds by look of the table to Tynemouth but I watched them beat tynemouth in their t20 day yesterday at sacriston as well as the hosts and they looked a very good outfit.

I think them along with some other seconds could hold their own in lower 1st divisions of the pyramid - would not be surprised if the NEPL and their structure considered that route for numbers to be honest!

The top 4 in the NEPL 2nd Div would challenge in the top half of the DCL 1st Div, in my opinion. South North, Tynemouth, Benwell Hill and CLS all have second teams that would more than hold their own against a lot of first teams.
 
The Airedale & Wharfedale League Champions of 2017, Beckwithshaw, have been relegated to Division 2 this season. No money for them this season?
