Maybe Rafa should of used some of those world class managerial skills to get them out of the Championship on the cheap rather than spending 50 million to do it. Would probably be able to spend a bit more now.

With that sort of budget at Championship level they had a brilliant opportunity to build a young, exciting attacking team with a lot of potential resale value but instead he signed a load of cloggers on pretty big wages. Not exactly surprising that Ashley is somewhat hesitant in letting him spend a fortune again.

He is a good manager, has won the European cup which is fantastic.

Was given his prem budget in the championship

Gets paid £5m a year or so....

Question is why does he not join a club that would develop his ambition.....or is it the fact he gets paid £5m and can keep his family home in Merseyside.......

They are protesting outside sports direct again on Sunday

The gift that keeps on giving.

Who’s shops, our shops

PMSL. He must love the protests. Get them all outside his shops and then they all go in and get their shirts afterwards and come away with the bags for a bit of free advertising
Ashley has no plans what so ever in stopping this and will be praying for protests every home game haha

It’s incredible how much they’ll defend Rafa. I’ve not seen anything like it in football, probably ever.

The funny thing is when you break it down he used to manage Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid once upon a time. In mag logic they think having Rafa as manager puts them toe to toe with those kind of clubs on the size radar. They were spells last season where the mags would have wanted any manager in the world other than Rafa out of the door. Even Pardew out achieved the great Rafa at Newcastle. A 5th place finish and no relegation.
Liverpool rejected a 2bn takeover. Ashley can’t sell them for 400m. That’s the difference between them

They are still taking Ashley to task over this "Rafa, can have every penny this club generates" thing, without stopping to think that Rafa has had every penny that the club have generated. And continues to do so. Its just that their perception of generated income is way, way removed from the reality of what the actual generated income is.
This. We won’t know till next years accounts what profit the club made.

They still believe that he's hiding money from them which is what I find hilarious. Every year they have made a massive loss or a small profit despite making huge profits on player trading so where exactly do they think a business can hide it's money??

Tbf, there was plenty on here who said the same about Short - despite all the evidence.

Big clubs won’t touch him - hence why he is at Newcastle.

In the Binn.......s
Or somewhere in the house.......of Fraser

They think football is as simple as old school Championship Manager. I'm talking 01-02 version, were you sell players and you've suddenly got the money added to your transfer kitty and wages to boot. Even the sensible ones I know are having none of the Keys/Gray views on it, and in fact it's pure mob mentality against anyone who even half agrees with Ashley. At the end of the day all of these Keeganites were brought up on (some even changed allegiance) for a period in their history where they over spent and over achieved, Big Mike bailed them out and now they're where they belong as a self sufficient, mid table Premier League club.

Inherited teams at Liverpool and Valencia.
Was very very lucky against ac milan.
Got his tactics/team selection all wrong in the first half and only changed because of injuries,

Relegated with the mags, bought his way out, whinges like a split arse.

You missed a couple of my personal favs...

Took over Treble winning Inter and within 6 months was sacked, had them 7th in the league albeit won the World Club Cup...beating the Congolese Champions in the final...

Oh and Alberto Aquilani>>>Xabi Alonso :lol::lol:

And the season before he signed Aquilani, he was desperate to sign Barry to replace Alonso iirc. I remember playing Liverpool in August that season at the SOL, Alonso was superb and he wanted to sell him
