After we finished studying we lived together for a while near Manchester because she immediately got a job there. I moved up whilst I was in the process of applying for the job I now have. When I got that job I moved up to Newcastle to start it.

Basically she’s tied into a training contract at the moment and will look at moving up here when that’s done. Alternatively, as I progress a bit more in my career I’ll have more ability to work from wherever I want so we’re both pretty comfortable it’ll work out.

We pay half of everything, chuck the same amount in savings and what's left we do what we want with it.

Imagine getting pocket money off your lass :lol:
 
All bill money, food, savings etc are paid after pay day, work it so we both have the exact same amount of disposable left over afterwards.

Works well.
 
Depends if you have bairns etc, but we share everything equally.
I earn about 20x what she earns, but she’s moved for my job, took time out to have kids.
We put everything in an account and then have £250 a month each for clothes and buying shit.
If we gan out together we use our joint account.

20%. Of my weekly wage goes in joint Account for bills and mortgage the rest is mine.
 
We just have a joint account. Both wages go in and we buy what we want really. Can’t say it’s ever caused problems either
 
100% of mine is used for bills / food / important stuff, then when our lass gets paid we use that for anything fun. Never really argued about money, if we can afford to do something we want, go for it.

Couldn't have a joint account for everything as I think it would cause problems, watching what each other spends and shit. Plus the she'd know how much I've blown when away with the lads

Thought it would be but it’s fine.

We see each other most weekends and I’d wager we do more in that time than an awful lot of couples who live together do in an entire week.

You know the sort? Out for a meal together and glued to their phones.

We’ve never really fought over money tbh mate. We both can see how much we spend, but it probably evens itself out over the year

Just use the joint account for bills, food etc.

Personal accounts for everything else.
