Part of the fun. It was spotless

I was in the Bentley garage at silver link a couple months back, the highlights being a DB5 and a P1. The P1 was something else
Astons are way too expensive to own for the normal bloke. Bentley the same. Porsche is manageable if you try.

Aston’s and bentleys aren’t rare, I mentioned it for the P1. Apparently the only one for sale in the country at the time, they wanted over £1m for it

It's not a race car more a concept hybrid just like the 918 Porsche.

911 GT3 Rs

The company that I worked for in 1993 had a blue Orion as a pool car. They were quite nice to drive.

I think that the best car I’ve driven was a Honda Civic that I had as a courtesy car in about 2001. I had to keep the revs quite high but it was a very smooth drive. That’s about all of my car knowledge in 2 paragraphs.
I used to drive an Accord back in the early 80s. It was a really lovely car to drive.
I still enjoyed the Ford Capri more though.

Fuck...in that case I'll say an Austin allegro. There's one knocking about in my town :D
I wrote one of those off a few years back. My fault entirely, but the owner was after loads of readies, as it was vintage.

Seen two in the last fortnight that I’ve never seen previously.

A Jaguar D-type on the A690 which looked and sounded original rather than a kit car....and just today an Aston Martin Lagonda at Chester le St which to be fair was a big ugly lump.

Got to say the 50’s design is more aesthetically pleasing than the 70’s wedge styling.
I saw 5 Aston Martin Lagondas in a convoy yesterday beside Chester le Street. I remember going down south to watch the RAC rally years ago and seeing a short wheelbase Audi Quattro, the road going version of the rally car.

I've just read the rest of your post.

Most cars manufactured after the 1960s are as common as shite and nowt special to look at.

I much prefer motors from earlier eras, so much more character.

American gangster motors come to mind and those big old V8s from a bit later.
Lots of them in Sweden, though they only come out in Summertime.
I used to have a whacking great Olds over there, a bit tricky driving around the forest dirt tracks, but great fun nonetheless.
My dad had the 3rd (of 4) V8 Aston Martin Vantages ever built. Series 1 1977, the fastest 4 seater production car in the world until the Lotus Carlton.

XR4 seen running round shields sometimes
Terrible understeer. Really bad.

I remember growing up thinking 204bhp in a Sierra and then 227bhp in the Escort Cosworth were like supercars in terms of power. Now you can get a fiesta with 197bhp

Hatchbacks doing 0-60 in 4.5 seconds nowadays as well. Mental how quickly the power has been ramped up on cars.
When I had shite Minis and Beetles my dad had Saab Turbos and Saab Carlssons, 235bhp Cosworth killers. It's a miracle I'm not deed.

I remember when the cavalier sri130 came out and it was like whoa Jesus that's quick.
I remember when they came out and one tried it on with me da in his Saab.
He set the cruise control at 125 and left the Vauxhall poverty mobile for dead. When me dar slowed down we got pulled at Hexham by a Police 3 litre Carlton. My dad got a producer and the copper said, you were doing at least 125mph when you went past us at Gateshead, can you keep your speed down in future as I nearly burnt my valves out trying to catch you.

Spotted a nice RS Turbo in Washington earlier. If I still had a garage there would be classic RS of some sort in it.
Escort? f***ing shite.

Out running today and an old m6 pulled along side me. Lovely
A proper shark nose?

Aye

Just seen on Durham polices FB there was an aston Lagonda festival passed through town. When they describe it as a festival they mean 8 of them
