First time you said something that made you realise your old?

Talking with somebody in office about pocket money and chores you did as a kid and then having to explain to the office youngster (in their very early 20s) what you mean by “getting the coal in”

Not something I said, but realised I'd come of age when asked to go in to a neighbours house, to make the teas and coffees and organise the buffet while the friends and family were attending a funeral. Always used to be the older women in the street that did that

Was chatting to this lass who wanted to buy the no 1 album and single for her friend who was expecting, so the kid would have what was no 1 when they were born. She goes into hmv to find that they don't sell singles any more. Who knew? When did this happen?

Yesterday my daughter asked what the thing (phone) was by the bed in the hotel room. I then got into a discussion about what a rotary phone was like when I grew up. Now she thinks I'm mental and I'm suddenly very old.

The woman’s voice behind me saying to her son, “stop ramming the shopping trolley into that man”.

Man? Barely a boy really.

When I started dislocating my shoulders to extend my arms further to read a book..

Then having it confirmed at the opticians when I heard the words.

" I'd recommend a varifocal on this pair "

That was 10 yr ago..

Now nearly everything my 16 yr old says and does makes me feel old
