This. There's been a lot of criticism of the academy on here, often without taking into consideration how it's first and foremost a first team training facility. His comments about the lack of budget for 'poaching' players of a slightly later age just shows that although it may have cost a decent figure to build we maybe haven't had a massive scouting network or budget set up to run it and thus you're always somewhat limited in what that will produce.
 
He’s saying all the right things, just hope he isn’t just playing us like a fiddle as a PR guy course he isn’t - this ride is gonna be class!!
 
Good read that. Although you're always going to get spin and good PR and people have to say the right things and it gives no guarantees, quite clearly they've done their homework and they seem up for it.
 
He's very good and the stuff about the Acadamy was music to my ears but I can't help but feel something is going to smack us in the face at some point.

Why does Bruce mention Sunderland again, why does Micky Quinn still laugh at us on the radio, Joey Barton still refer to 5-1, Manquillo and Yedlin talk about their time here. Why are you so bothered. The fact remains they are rivals and a new owner wants to endear himself to us. I also fail to see why so many SAFC fans want to appear so balanced they turn into fannies and get offended over nothing

It makes me hope to hell that they achieve everything they hope for with us. I love the bit where he tells Ellis Short he should be able to find people interested in buying the club. That tells me he is very well connected.
Didn't know he was an advisor to Arsenal and Spurs either.

Well said its about more of our supporters showed their teeth where those black and white bastards are concerned. Stand up for yourselves and your club and tell them to fuck off once in a while.

How long is it since we’ve had good spin and PR?
The guy is an expert in his field but also seems very shrewd. If he can capture the safc fan base so quickly, what will he be able to do inside the world of football business to grow how we are seen?

because he's not keen on them and doesn't give a shiny shite who knows about it. We've been on the wrong end of this bollocks for too long now. From ex managers, that club, The local tv and radio stations, and the local and national press. Fuck em all I say. This club may just be growing a pair again.
