More rumours BSA is going to get sacked

If the ambition of a club is to cling on to the premiership at all costs then Allardyce will give you that.

If your ambition is to see your club team play entertaining stuff and give the better funded outfits a run for the money then steer well clear of him.

Aye and Rafa's getting the Accrington job...

We are in league One. How many more pathetic threads are we going to have linking Premier League managers with us?

I suspect a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when we do exactly what we should be doing in our position and appoint a lower league manager on a modest salary who knows the lower leagues.
Like the Grayson appointment?

Ambition of the club. Same as when we went down 2016. It was " right we are the biggest club in this league and we are going to walk it and come straight back up" we were even singing songs about when we win the championship in September. That's what persuaded Benitez to stay and the likes of Gayle and Ritchie to drop down a division to take us up.

If we went down with a "grounded" attitude and that we were going to do anything other than come straight back up then who knows where we would be now.

Allardyce is a wanker , but I do think it’s pathetic the way the Everton fans are going on, always thought they knew their place in the football pyramid which is a place above where they are at in the league now, nobody going to Everton can get them higher than 7th unless they are going to start spending hundreds of millions. They would be 7th next year under Allardyce and will be 7th next year under whoever they appoint. They should go for Dyche but I have a feeling he won’t be a fancy enough name for the supporters.

 how can they claim climbing from relegation candidates to 8th in the league isn't progress because they don't knock it about like Barcelona? We've finished higher than 8th in the premier league (I know 1992 etc etc) twice in our history yet Allardyce has managed it with someone else's squad in less than a season. Had an incredible amount of respect for Everton after their support of Bradley Lowery but I've lost quite a bit of respect this season.

mags of merseyside.
They're not claiming that isn't progress from where they were. They're back to just below where they should be or where they expected to be. They have big ambitions these days at Everton to get in that group of clubs at the very top. They want a shot at getting into it. I kind of agree with them that Allardyce isn't the man to do it.

Allardyce is a good manager that's pretty clear however he's a short term solution and, this is just my opinion, I don't blame any set of fans for wanting to see good entertaining football. That doesn't happen with Allardyce

It Dosnt happen with Simeone, Mourinho, Conte and plenty other top class managers either, yet Everton would take them in a heartbeat, let’s not pretend all Everton want is entertaining football. They want a top class fancy name manager but they are not big or good enough to get one. They essentially think they are to big for Allardyce, that’s the bottom line.

Who is pretending anything? It's just an opinion.

I agree with your point about winning things. Tell me what Allardyce has won?

If Big Sam is up for it I'd bring him back with a 5 year plan of getting us back in the premier league and get us stable.

Year 1 - League One promotion

Year 2 - Mid table Championship finish minimum

Year 3 - Championship Promotion

Year 4 / 5 - Become stable Premier League team

After that see where the land lies. .

He’s won nothing and probably never will, but Everton aren’t a team who win things anymore, they are going to be 7th-8th every year whoever is in charge unless they spend hundreds of millions. What is Marco Silva going to do at Everton that Allardyce can’t ? He may even be worse, but because he has a fancy name Everton fans will accept him.

I don't get that argument tbh. They have a billionaire owner who has ambitions to be a top club why shouldn't they try and reach the next level? Because they haven't been in recent years isn't a reason. Should they know their place and just be happy with it ?

It'll be good to have him back but I don't think he will come.

We're League one and we're not going to get a "big name" manager.

Fans gets ideas above their station and it rarely ends well, Southampton fans wanted the manager sacking a year ago for finishing 8th and getting to a cup final, look how that worked out. Everton and Allardyce is a good fit for where they both are in the football pyramid.
