I was thinking that like. He's had a few roles by the looks of things but at least he has football experience, as always a lot would depend on who his backers are; both in terms of what kind of funds they might have (not expecting anything huge but a small investment should see us promoted, have to hope they have that and money to cover losses if required) and also how many/ what kind of people they are. I'm not sure of why there would be immediate criticism when his name is linked though, unless I'm missing something obvious
The article says they're confident that their offer is better than the local group who has been talking for a few weeks. The problem is that some people will think whoever takes over will come in and start chucking money around like a lads weekend in Vegas. It's going to take time change things but, a winning start next season would be a great first step.

Didn't he make a right mess of Hull?

Don't know anything at all about him mate but looks like he's the front man.

If this consortium allows us to keep the players we want and makes a modest transfer budget of £5m or so I am confident we will be back in the championship in 12 months again.

Picking me new seat on Thursday so hoping for any snatch of optimism going.

He left in the Summer of 2012. They were promoted in 12/13. Hull finished 11th and 8th in the Championship while he was in charge there. Bad journalism.

I was just reading the Hull Wiki page a few minutes ago and it seems he was some sort of official advisor for a while after he stopped being the owner. I don't know to what capacity though. Maybe that's what they meant?

He obviously has contacts...how deep are their pockets is the question?!! :)

Would he have been in charge when we were the opposition when Hull opened the KC? I’m sure there was some sort of tie in with us at the time as they were in the 2nd division when we were in the premier.

Radio Newca*&le had some story about a bloke from Oxford as part of a consortium buying us earlier. The same one?

Just a sprinkle of fairy dust and there'll be 40k in there........
