Why would he lie?
I’m sure on one of the live pods he talked about the Barnsley takeover (clearly gets a bit of inside info with regards to that club) and said the same people had talked to Sunderland and not been impressed.

Why wouldn’t he?
How many freebies though?
thousands hence the reference to wishy washy support which seemed to irk a couple.
All boils down the the fact Bob Murray’s eyes were too big for his belly. He built the stadium too big, trying to run before he could walk. 47,000 crowds were never going to be sustainable in the long term, unless we had continued ‘success’. Thousands going then was based on the novelty factor.
That was the plan mate.

His initial plan was for a 34,000 seater stadium incidentally. In the premier, we would have been like Norwich, packed out every week.
Simply put, the ground is too big (captain obvious statement at present I realise!).
Someone is lying.
If we hadn't have done the ticket offers we wouldn't have had 40,000+ gates for so many years.f***ing right as well, half the c*nts were only there in the Prem because of free/cheap tickets and the same half fucked off this season when we went down and the cheapies/freebies stopped. f***ing wankers, even Quinny stuck the boot into our wishy-washy, fairweather fanbase man.
Theres absolutely no way Short will be going into discussions RE selling the club and slagging off the fans, infrastructure etc. It makes zero sense whatsoever; Short wants out, why would he approach any negotiations in that fashion?
I think the stadium was extended because the view was that we couldn't charge high ticket prices, but instead get extra income by charging less for tickets bu t having more fans in the stadium. which again makes a mockery of this myth about us being the best supporters in the land.
our away support, it has to be said, rivals any club in Britain but our home support is just average (made perceptibly worse by the fact we're surrounded by 25,000 empty seats).
He may have been drinking.
He may have been drinking.
And he’s a complete arrogant tosser ,horrible man !
I’ve seen this first hand as others have
Cattermole will be blamed for this within 15 minutes then

That's correct Randy. I still have the promotional VHS tape that went into some depth about "Wearmouth Sadium" (I kid you not about the typing error!) it was going to be all glass on what was the equivalent of the west stand and indeed have a 34,000 capacity. All boils down the the fact Bob Murray’s eyes were too big for his belly.
