Cheating Aussie B******s

I still think if the Aussie Cricket Board had anything about them, then a lifetime ban should have been issued. I’d like to think the ECB would do the same if it were our players doing it.
Do you think they will have to sit on front of the emery board too?

(I’ll get me coat)

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I derive absolutely no pleasure from this photo at all. Whilst I have absolutely no sympathy with Warner, and whilst I, personally, feel the punishments were a necessary evil for the sake of a deterrent, as a human being I do feel for Smith and Bancroft, and hope they get looked after properly for the next twelve months.

I hope they lose everything and end up sleeping on the streets, wankers. Where's your \||/ 0 now *****?

Smith is a weak leader and a bit immature. I felt that they way he was laughing about the Bairstow 'headbutt' incident at that press conference. I back him to learn a lesson and come back successfully and less of a twat.

Pretty much sums it up for me. I don't think Smith's a bad person, just very weak, got the captaincy because of his ability with the bat and hasn't had the courage to stand up to the biggest bully and voice in the dressing room, and it's got him here.

Do I feel he's been harshly treated? No, and it's his responsibility. He's the captain, he needed to be firmer, get control of Warner and stamp the nonsense out.

But I don't think he's a bad bloke, I do feel the tears are real, and personally, I don't laugh at the picture of him clearly in bits.

Do feel that everyone involved who's lost positions will really feel it next time they turn the telly on and see Australia playing - and it's not them at the stumps. Deserved, and they'll f***ing regret this.

This is how I see it too. Hope the daft fucker learns a big lesson from this.

A quite disgraceful episode in Australian cricket history. Given the prestige of the team and its brilliant history I'm not surprised that the Aussie public is mortified.

Shameful and the players in question will now pay the price for their poor decision making and actions.

I wonder what Bradman would say if he were alive?

I agree - whats happened is right, they have had appropriate sanctions and have been humiliated. However the likes of Sutherland and Lehmann are even more responsible than the culprits because they have either created that culture (Lehmann) or refused to do anything about it (Sutherland).

They should be flung out as well.

Yeah you are spot on mate there. Just woke up to see Lehman has gone, good on him, think its the right decision. Sutherland has to go to, he has stood by and done nothing, he brought Lehman back to develop this culture essentially.

Part of me is enjoying this but part of me thinks its gone too far, it's a strange one. I have actually met Darren Lehman once, and despite slagging him off constantly on this thread, I was just talking to my Dad and we both thought he was a canny bloke at the time.

Yeah fair assessment that.

Totally agree that press conference was child like. Hindsight is a great thing and looking at it now its clear the lad wasn't ready to lead a group of hard nose cricketers when tough decisions had to be made.

Smith looks in a bad way to me. He's going to need a lot of help to get over it. It's clear he was too weak to square up to Davy Knobhead and prevented it. Lehmann should have spotted that and got rid of the prick before it came to this. Hilarious yet quite sad really

I've seen all the press conferences and read all the testimonies, the ex-players calling the bans harsh and the outpouring of sympathy towards Smith.
I do not have one ounce of sympathy towards them - they are grown men, they knew what they were doing and were either too arrogant or too stupid to think they would get caught.
I don't believe for a second that this is an isolated incident, nor do I believe they acted alone,
You can cry all you want, but your tears are tears of shame ad embarrassment because you got caught

This bollocks about "making a mistake" - they knew that ball tampering was wrong, they did it anyway. That's not a mistake, that pure arrogance.

I take no pleasure in it, but I have no sympathy for any of them. They, better than anyone know the rules and the consequences of getting caught.
Chickens coming home to roost

Not gonna criticise anyone for this view like, I'm sure many people think the same.

On a human level, it's hard to watch Smith break down like that and has (what I presume was) his Dad come and comfort him, but he's brought it on himself.
Am guessing that Shitehawk Warner won't be crying on national TV any time soon

Interesting words from James Taylor...

After investigating, Cricket Australia found the fast bowlers were not part of the plan that was hatched by Warner and involved Smith and Cameron Bancroft, which is equally bizarre. When I played for England, it was inconceivable that anything would happen to the ball without Jimmy Anderson or Stuart Broad knowing about it.
They would be on top of the fielders all the time — don’t get sweat on the ball, don’t get sun cream on it, keep one side dry
