People get caught by it so obviously not. It's not just about the speed limit reduction though, motorways have lots of other designed in safety features that standard dual carriageways don't so ensuring people slow down to adapt to those conditions surely has to be a good thing for road safety. Only a complete and utter f***ing idiot would disagr.....ah, just realised whi I was replying to
Tbf I drove quite sensibly all the way there and only got caught out in the last couple of mile when my concentration was obviously waning after 3 hours on the road.

Not a very good driver if your concentration wanes while still driving.

Out of interest, what by your standards constitutes 'quite sensibly'? Only doing 360 degree handbrake turns in lane three at 120mph rather than your usual 720's?

I got done doing 43 in a 30 just before the harbour view. It was the bairns birthday and we were late for his party. Luckily I got offered the course. As I was expecting the 6 points. I ve also been done along ferry boat lane at 31 mph and had 3 points.

I've just got a letter this morning. 40 in a 30.

I have no other points on license.

Fingers crossed on a course which I've never attended before.
Was on my first speed awareness course through Durham last week which was quite informative tbh and more to the point entertaining..

Couple of know it all 's on the course ,but the most entertaining was a geezer who came in late and charged up off the drink. He slavered on something rotten about shite it was comical .
Ex flatty who tried to justify why he was excempt from any laws of the land was swiftly slapped down by the gadgie taking the class.

It does like, but of course you know best mate.

The best driver in the world could be driving at 40, and hit someone and kill them. They might survive at 30. But at least he had more fun driving at 40 eh?
Obviously doesn't give a fuck about pedestrians. If they go over the top of his car whilst he's speeding, then thats their fault.
He'll be more bothered about the damage to his car, than some poor sod mashed into the road

Just been caught on Mother's Day doing 42mph in a 30 zone on Ferryboat Lane in the wife's car.

Is there anyway this could be a speed awareness course to avoid points?

Would it be 3 or 6 points and a fine?

How much is the fine?

Cheers road racers!

Mate of mine is a driving instructor. You could do a refresher and it might do you a favour before your lead drivin right foot gets you sent down.
