Doing 42mph in a 30mph zone...

He's probably on the dole.
Ya mar is

The new guidelines deem 41+ in a 30 as a band B fine. These start at 100% of a weeks salary. Hopefully for the op, the magistrate is lenient.

Hope this is not the case like, the road before is 40 and then after the roundabout it changed to 30 so I was unaware but will take the fine and points on the chin like a honourable citizen. Fuck the law tho

Especially the little roads. It's not too bad doing 80mph on the outside lane of a motorway but there's no need to be ragging your car over 40 on small estates like the OP.
I agree, I can understand doing that speed on a motorway when the conditions are good enough to do so, but on the main roads in street areas etc where it's a 30mph limit it just seems pointless.

In his defence its daft having that road as a 30mph limit
That might be true but just because it's considered daft doesn't justify going 10mph over the limit

The start of a protest....sticking it to the man and all that?

Having been done a few times for speeding, I did a SA course for doing 36 in a 30.

I wouldn't dream of doing 42 in a 30 now, as it really is the difference between a serious injury and death from 30 to 42MPH

A jam eater would have no chance of surviving being hit by 2 tons of metal at 42MPH

More worried about his points rather than the school kids he could have killed
Hi CL. I am with you in the sentiment, but tbf he asked a specific question about only a specific part of the event.

His question doesn't mean that we must immediately brand him as a shift.

Must be a real money earner for them Ferryboat Lane, most of the way up (and the bit where they put the van) the houses are set back quite a way. Add to that the fact if you’ve just come off the A19 you feel as though you’re crawling doing 30 it’s easy to get caught out.
