I met an ocean at the weekend but he was Welsh and it was Osian

I was announcing at a swimming gala and there are some weird and contrived concoctions, Kt being one, I just said Katy

To be fair to them, they would have had very little frame of reference as to whether a British name is still in popular use. That’s why you would get a lot of youngish people from there called Mildred, Fanny and Godfrey

Had a colleague in Guangzho called Cecil .... lovely lass by all accounts :) . Oh and a chap in HK called Bunny

I used to work with a Malaysian bloke who made this choice as a kid and picked Lionel. He got married to Mavis.

I love that you picked that out of the car crash list
 It's because it seems to be the regular one that gets screeched when I'm at the shops, doctors, or bus stops. Apart from the time I heard someone shout Ron, I was expecting a grandfather, but it was her toddler.

I know a young couple who called their first Aria and the second Javier, but he is always called Bob. Really suits him too.
My Mam's family gave all their girls two names and called them a different family name for everyday use. Mam is Dinah Mary but known as Molly; Sarah Jane aka Jenny; Edith Anne aka Nancy; Jessica Louise was Jessy (failed the last one, I know). Their Dad (Jack) is my avatar BTW.

I detest that name. Sorry if anyone on here has named a kid that. No offence. It just sums up everything that's wrong with copying daft American names to me.
It’s a fairly popular name here in Australia, along with Beau.
