How cold is your house at night

Freezing, but only because I don’t like the central heating on overnight. It goes on about 5:30am to take the chill off for the bairn going to work.

I have had the heating on during the day for the past couple of days as it’s been really col d but normally a thick jumper and a blanket keep me warm while I’m sitting around.

Never drops below 18 degrees, all thermostats set to that 24/7. Knock the lounge up a couple of degrees when the bairns are here.

I'm well insulated and that's nowt to do with the heating.

Just a fat git

I do like the under floor heating we get from the pipes.

The Romans were spot on, having that

Is under floor heating more efficient ?
Seems a waste of energy to me, heating the ground up as well as the house.

not specific underfloor heating, It's just the hot water pipes that run under the floor in the bathroom. Warms the floor lovely on a morning

What insulation and depth did you go for? And what type of build?

Sorry bud im not really up with the technical stuff. All I know is it's dual block with insulation sheets in between. It's a flat roof (cold I think), again insulated with 100mm high density foiled foam stuff.

We've only just started putting the heat on regularly. The floor has the same insulation and is underfloor heated (water). 30 square metres in the lounge and it's toasty.

Cold. As much as I love my old fashioned wooden front door, it lets out a ridiculous amount of heat and a hell of a draft gets in. Our double glazing gaskets could use replacing too. I’ll not have the heating on at night either as the radiator in our room makes a racket. These jobs around the house keep piling up like:rolleyes:
Get a door curtain. Works a treat!

Thermostats set to 16 during the night and i've not noticed the boiler come on yet even with the low temps recently.

Keep it at 20 most the day unless i know i'm going to be out for a while.

Turn the heating down to 10 on a night and it was on this morning when I woke up which is a rarity. The thermostat is next to my bed so usually turn it up 10 mins before I get up so it's warm as upstairs heats up really quick. My lounge is like a freezer all year round. When it's hot during the summer it's a luxury, rest of the year it's blankets and hot water bottles ,upstairs heats up dead quick so knocks the thermostat off so it never stays warm. Even in summer if I accidentally leave it in the lounge during the day I've often come back home to heating on:rolleyes:

Freezing cold as nobody in this house shuts the bloody doors after them and the Mrs likes the window on night vent to let the air circulate. She's bloody deranged.

I have my bedroom window open all year round, I can't bear a stuffy room. I also have a fan on full blast about an inch away from my pillow. It's the only way I can sleep (I also have a hot water bottle mind and winter duvet). The heating comes on for a couple of hours through the night just cos I don't want my kids to freeze.

Noticed the boiler has been on less with having had Hive in for a few weeks now. Just set it to 20 degrees for the times we're in from work until 10pm and it keeps things nice and warm. Haven't noticed it being overly cold in the night, it kicks back in from 7-8am.

Nee heating in the kitchen mind, need your slippers on before you go in there on a morning.
